A Certain Item of Dark Side Anime Announced!
Article at a glance:
- A Certain Item of Dark Side is getting an anime adaptation, announced via YouTube.
- A Certain Scientific Railgun Season 4 has been confirmed with the main staff returning.
- The Toaru series continues to expand, though fans still wish for a better Index adaptation.
It looks like Kadokawa remembered their OG cash cow, lol. I merely jest, I am quite a fan of the Toaru series. I was first introduced to this series when I had just started watching anime. Back then, I didn’t realize just how deep of a world this anime series had. But over the years, and especially after watching both of the Spin-Off series, Accelerator, and Railgun, I’ve come to appreciate how rich the world-building is. Railgun will come up later in the article as well,l but more importantly, the other spin-off series, A Certain Item of Dark Side, is also getting an anime!
S,o welcome back to another news article. Tod, ay, we are talking about A Certain Item of Dark Side anime and a few other announcements related to the Toaru series. So let’s get started!
All the Toaru News You Need to Know!
Well, as I mentioned, the first piece of news is that A Certain Item of Dark Side is getting an anime adaptation. Item or ITEM is the latest spin-off novel series in the Toaru universe by Kazuma Kamachi. Believe it or not, this announcement was made on the official YouTube channel, which is quite rare. Usually, these announcements are made on the official Twitter or the official websites. We got an announcement tea, ser and Ami Koshizumi, Aya Suzuki, Maaya Uchida, and Chinatsu Akasaki will be starring as the main cast.

And well, that is not all. A Season 4 for A Certain Scientific Railgun was also confirmed right along with this. The YouTube channel posted an announcement teaser for that too. All the major staff and cast members are returning, and that means that the anime will be directed once again by Tatsuyuki Nagai at JC Staff.

My Thoughts
Well, we Toaru fans are eating good today. It is pretty rare for a series to get two massive back-to-back announcements like these. Well, I gues it’s to be fa, or most animes don’t have multiple parallel LNs to adapt from like this. But still. I think it is fair to say that Railgun is the most well-received spin-off from the Toaru series. A lot of people seem to like Railgun more than Index. Makes me really curious to see how ITEM will be received by the community.
There are times when I wish that Index had a better anime adaptation, man. JC Staff is not a bad stu,dio but Index Season 3 is quite old, and the anime adaptation was kinda bad, too. If you compare that to the adaptation of Railgun Season 3 or Accelerator, the difference is quite obvious. Still, I am glad that this series is getting more attention.
That is all for now
But yeah, that covers all the Toaru news for now. There was a surprising amount, I have to say lol. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. I will take my leave here. I need sleep. See ya!
