There hasn’t been much in terms of anime news lately. The biggest news we got in the last few weeks was a cancellation, which is pretty sad. So when I was scouring the internet looking for things to make content on… I mean doing research, I stumbled onto this. Normally, I wouldn’t have covered this. Because to be honest, I hadn’t even heard about A Ninja and Assassin Living Together manga before. But something in particular caught my eye. And I will talk about it in detail later on.

But first, let’s get over the news. So welcome back to another news article, probably the only news article I will do this week given how dry things have been. And today we are talking about A Ninja and Assassin Together and it looks to be very interesting. Again, I will save my thoughts on it later so let’s get into the news.

What do we know about A Ninja and Assassin Living Together anime?

Well, not much to be honest. This is just an initial announcement and you know how these go. Kadokawa announced this anime adaptation on Tuesday through a press release and gave us a teaser visual. This anime will be based on the manga of the same name by Hundred Burger. Yes, that is the name the author decided to go with, I am serious. The manga has been serialized in the Comic Dengeki Daioh “g” magazine since February 2021 and it currently has 4 volumes.

Oh and, the anime will be made by Shaft. So let’s move on to

My Thoughts

Yeah that last sentence above the heading, is why this anime caught my eye. Shaft is one of the most creative studios in the business. They have a way of making very ordinary scenes feel over the top and so much more important. I know that their style isn’t for everyone but man, they come up with some very creative visual metaphors to enhance the emotions in the scene so whatever they touch becomes gold in my opinion, their presentation is so unorthodox, that you can’t help but get invested.

What I have seen from the manga, the art style falls perfectly within Shaft’s area of expertise. I have not read the manga, but I have seen it described as a “dark comedy” in multiple places. And man, that fits Shaft to a T. So yeah, it should be very interesting to see what Shaft manages to do with this series. That one name alone is enough to get me on board with an upcoming anime. And if I recall correctly, it has been a while since Shaft put out something, right?

Edit: Yes, they haven’t put out anything since 2022. The only thing they worked on in 2023 was the Quintessential Quintuplets special episode.

That is all for now!

So yeah, let me know what you guys think in the comments. I think A Ninja and Assassin Living Together has a lot of potential to be really good. And it is because of Shaft that I look forward to it. So yeah, that is all for now. I will take my leave here… I- I have to write practicals. See ya!
