Love After World Domination: Anime Recommendation of the Week

You thought I forgot about this anime during the spring season? I knew how good this anime was because of all the praise I heard about it. I did not get a chance to check it out during the season because I was already watching 15+ airing animes. But, Love After World Domination is one hell of an anime. Everything from its setting to execution is just plain old fun and goofiness.

So welcome back to another edition of our anime recommendation series! This week we are talking about Love After World Domination! It is one of the best rom-com this year and a really underrated anime in my opinion. With that said, let’s get started.

Introduction

Love After World Domination is based on the manga of the same name by Wakamatsu Takashiro and Hiroshi Noda. The anime is just 12 episodes long as of now and it is made by Project No. 9 studio. It just aired in the last season, sping 2022. So this is a great chance to pick it up. It is a really entertaining rom-com series.

Have you ever wanted to see a cheesy rom-com anime version of Power Rangers? If so, Love After World Domination is exactly what you’re looking for. With that said though, let’s continue onward!

Plot

Continuing my power rangers analogy, Love After World Domination is what you get if Jason from MMPR fell for Rita Repulsa. That isn’t totally accurate because Desumi is 1000 times more likable than Rita but, that is what you’re getting here. The series follows Desumi and Fudou as they try their best to keep their relationship a secret while still trying to do normal couple things.

Yup, this is a very interesting and unique setting for a rom-com. Love After World Domination is awesomely paced and there are plenty of plot twists to keep you interested. It is a genuinely stupid and fun anime, best for enjoying after a long day.

Characters

This is the true joy of Love After World Domination. The show has some really good characters. Fudou and Desumi’s relationship dynamic is so so well done. I love how awkward they are at times as none of them have experience of dating. They try their best to keep each other happy and it is adorable to watch. Other than that Desumi’s friends are quite the wild bunch too, and they are really fun to watch as well. The Gelato side on the other hand isn’t that interesting. Except for Fudou, the only interesting characters are Misaki, Haru, and the professor.

Animations and Soundtracks

The animations and art styles are pretty ok. The animations are very fluid at least, they took gave plenty of frames to the animations. Love After World Domination can be a little fan-service heavy, I know some people don’t like that stuff. So consider yourself warned. They also did a fantastic job on the cute and meme faces; Desumi is so adorable. As for the soundtracks, the opening and ending themes are really good.
