Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 3 Anime Confirmed!

Article at a glance:
- Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 4, adapting Part 3 of the manga, will be produced by WIT Studio and is set for a 2026 release.
- The light novel spans 33 volumes, with dense storytelling that could fill 12-15 anime seasons, excluding spin-offs and side stories.
- The anime has only covered 7 volumes across 3 seasons, showcasing the series’ complexity and vast potential for future adaptations.

So there are two reasons I made this article. Of course, I wanted to talk about the Part 3 anime adaptation news but I don’t think most people realize just how massive Ascendance of a Bookworm really is. The Light Novel author, Miya Kazuki has written so much content for this series, that it is mind-boggling. And the thing is, the Ascendance of a Bookworm is dense. So for example. with a normal LN, you could squeeze in 3 or maybe even 4 volumes in a 12-13 episode season. But so far, even after 3 whole seasons, the anime adaptation has only covered 7 volumes.
So yeah, let’s talk about the news first and then we’ll get into just how deep this rabbit hole goes. So welcome back to another news article today we are talking about Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 3!
about The Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 3 Anime
The whole “Part” chronology comes from the manga adaptation of the LN. Parts 1 and 2 of the manga adaptation are drawn by Suzuka, Part 3 is drawn by Ryo Namino, and Part 4 is drawn by Hikaru Katsuki. Out of these, Parts 2 through 4 are still ongoing that’s why they have different authors. I told you, the LN is HUGE. So anyway, out of these, Season 4 of the anime will be adapting Part 3 of the manga. The anime will be produced by WIT Studio and it is scheduled for a 2026 release.

The Ascendance of a Bookworm Rabbit Hole
So as I said, the anime adaptation has only adapted 7 volumes of the LN despite having 3 seasons and OVAs. Well, there are 33 volumes of the LN in total. That alone is worth 12-15 seasons worth of anime content. ON TOP OF THAT, we are cutting out chapters that are from the PoVs of other characters. These chapters in the first 7 volumes alone were to warrant multiple OVAs. So these chapters alone are worth a full season or two worth of content.
DID I MENTION that the LN also has an ongoing spin-off, the Royal Academy Stories which currently only has one volume but is supposed to go up to 5 volumes? DID I MENTION that there are another 3 volumes worth of side stories? A battle manga/LN has a lot of pages dedicated to action which don’t take as much time in the anime. But Ascendance of a Bookworm doesn’t have that so the LN volumes end up being very dense for an anime adaptation. Yeah, we are easily looking at like 20 seasons worth of content if anime adapts everything.

That is all for now
So yeah, I hope that opened your eyes to just how massive the Ascendance of a Bookworm is. And the author keeps on writing more stuff lol. Of course, I have not read everything but I have read a sizable chunk and I do enjoy this series. I look forward to the anime adaptation of Part 3 of the Ascendance of a Bookworm and yeah, let me know what you guys think in the comments. I will take my leave here. See ya!
