Atri My Dear Moments, I look forward to This

Atri My Dear Moments the VN has some stellar reviews on Steam. I don’t remember the exact score off the top of my head but it is well into the “Overwhelmingly Positive” territory. And the best part is that it is currently on discount. So if you hurry, you can get this awesome VN for a very cheap price till 25th July. Why do I bring this up? Because an overwhelmingly positive review score on Steam is always impressive. That means that the VN did something right.

What about the anime though? Well, only a single episode has aired so it remains to be seen but I see potential. And I look forward to seeing more of this series. What about the first episode itself? That’s what we’re here to talk about today. So welcome back to another one of my first impressions article and today we are talking about Atri My Dear Moments. So let’s get started.

What did I think of Atri My Dear Moments Episode 1?

It’s kind of hard to explain but the whole show so far has this melancholic feel to it. Full disclosure, I have not played the VN. But I don’t know, the vibe of the show gives off the feeling that it will end in a tragedy. I really hope that isn’t the case though. But I do think that they nailed the atmosphere and the type of story they’re trying to tell. It is a story about people just wanting to make ends meet in a “post-apocalyptic” world after all. So this melancholic atmosphere is fitting.

Another thing I’d like to praise is how Atri is animated. I don’t think the VN shows her body language, you just have her actions and voice to go with. The animators understood her character well, she is more expressive than any of the other characters we see in Episode 1. Ironic, considering she’s a robot and all. Continuing with the characters, the little backstory we got for the MC gives his character arc some good potential. Despite everything he says and does throughout the episode, he can’t help but care for Atri.

And lastly, the animations are amazing. As I mentioned, the animators understood her personality and it was fun to watch her on the screen, paired with the amazing voice acting by Akao Hikaru. Aside from her, the animations still look amazing in general. I dig the art style and I talked about the atmosphere of the series earlier, the animations play a huge part in making that atmosphere come to life as well. You can feel how dire the situation is. Amazing production overall.
