Blue Box Episode 14 Was Crazy!

Article at a glance:
- Episodes 13 and 14 address pacing issues from Cour 1, delivering significant character moments and emotional developments.
- Episode 14 features a pivotal moment as Hina confesses to Taiki, showcasing her growth and setting up future character arcs.
- The lack of focus on Chinatsu’s character remains a concern, with hopes that Cour 2 will address this.

Okay, so it is no secret that I’ve loved Blue Box so far. I liked it enough to include it on my Top 10 Anime of 2024 list. Cour 2 of Blue Box just debuted last week and man, we are off to an amazing start and holy shit Episode 14 was awesome. This week’s episode did something quite unexpected and I am very interested in seeing where things go. Even last week’s episode was great. Sure, it didn’t have the crazy shock factor like Episode 14 but it was a lesson Taiki needed to learn.
I was being vague on purpose there to avoid spoiling the recent two episodes of the show lol. But from here on, there will be spoilers ahead. So welcome back to another article and today we are talking about Blue Box Episode 13 and Episode 14! Let’s get started!

About Blue Box Episode 13 & Episode 14
My main issue with cour 1 was that at times, the pacing felt off. It felt like nothing much was happening. Well, cour 2 immediately blew that complaint out of the water in just two episodes. Both episodes 13 and 14 were quite eventful. We get to learn a lot more about the relationship between Haryu and Karen in episode 13. Their story is quite heartwarming, to be honest. And I like how reluctant Haryu was to even accept Karen’s confession despite his feelings. That episode was a great character piece for both of them.
That episode taught Taiki something very important. Things won’t go anywhere unless you do something about them. Bottling up your feelings for someone is disingenuous to them. And as if to follow this very advice, episode 14 went all out. Hina actually ends up confessing her feelings to Taiki even though she knows that he probably won’t reciprocate. It was an unexpected moment but I love how Hina’s character arc has been progressing so far. Let’s see how this affects Taiki’s character in future episodes.

Now one thing I wish to see more of from cour 2 is some character development for Chinatsu. Like come on, she’s supposed to be the “main heroine” and yet Hina gets way more development than her. I really want to see more scenes from Chinatsu’s perspective if possible. She really needs some character development. This was my other big issue with cour 1 and hopefully, cour 2 will fix this, The new opening and ending themes for cour 2 are great, by the way. They’re animated beautifully as well.
That is all for now
But yeah, those were my thoughts on Blue Box so far. I am very excited about future developments in the show. Things are getting interesting. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. I will take my leave here. See ya!
