Blue Exorcist Season 3 Episode 1 Was Awesome!

Key points for Blue Exorcist Season 3 Episode 1 Review:

  • I really enjoyed seeing Rin’s sassy personality back in Blue Exorcist Season 3 Episode 1. The animation upgrade made his horns, blue fire, and sword look even better, and I’m glad they maintained the art style while improving the visuals.
  • I’m a fan of Mephisto’s character; he’s so sus, and you can’t quite figure out his loyalties. The conversation with Rin and the last scene added to his mysterious aura. The way he reveals his true nature and disrespects Rin was just awesome.
  • The plot setup for this arc got me hooked, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes. Special props to Konekomaru for being the MVP in the Family Portrait Demon fight – the class probably wouldn’t have won without him.

I can’t believe that we are here finally. There was a time when Blue Exorcist Season 3 seemed impossible. Or at least most people gave up hope that it’d ever even come out. But a few months ago, to all our surprise, a new anime project for the series was announced and later on, it was confirmed to be a 3rd season. It still sounded too good to be true for a while. But here we finally are and Blue Exorcist Season 3 Episode 1 just dropped today. And I have to say, I really enjoyed the episode.

So welcome to the last first impressions article for this week. Winter 2024 season is already starting off great with this, Sasaki, A Sign of Afffection, Classroom of the Elite, and Solo Leveling. And of course, today we are talking about Blue Exorcist Season 3 Episode 1! So let’s get started.

What do I think of Blue Exorcist Season 3 Episode 1?

I actually kind of forgot just how sassy Rin’s personality was. And I’m glad to see him again, for sure. His horns, blue fire, and sword look so much better with these newer animations. I am glad that they managed to preserve the art style despite the upgrade in the animations. I guess it is doable because they managed to retain a lot of the staff from the original 2 seasons. Either way, the anime looks pretty good. The new animations really got a chance to shine in the fight with the Family Portrait Demon towards the end of the episode.

And while that fight was great, there was a lot more to this episode. The conversation between Mephisto and Rin was awesome as well. I love Mephisto’s character, he is SO sus and you can’t really tell where his loyalties lie. Even the last scene of the episode showed just how mysterious he is. He reveals his true nature to Rin. And the way he disrespects Rin in the coming few minutes was just awesome.

The plot setup for this arc looks interesting as well. So it will be fun to see where this arc goes from this point. And lastly, a special shout-out to Konekomaru. He was the MVP of the Family Portrait Demon fight. The class probably wouldn’t have won without him.

That is all for now!

Let me know what you guys think in the comments. Blue Exorcist Episode 1 was a great start and I look forward to seeing more of it. With that said, I will take my leave here, See ya!!
