Blue Lock Season 3 Confirmed…

Article at a glance:
- Blue Lock Season 3 has officially been confirmed at the 2025 Egoist Fest, despite the trainwreck that was Season 2.
- The anime nearly killed its own hype with slideshow-tier “animation” that turned one of the best arcs into a joke.
- A live-action adaptation is also on the way, and honestly, it might somehow have more frames than Season 2.

Well, this is unexpected. Honestly, after the horrendous reception of Season 2, I half didn’t expect them to make a Season 3. But here we are. I guess, despite the damage Season 2 did to the brand, Blue Lock still prints money with the manga sales. But yeah, for better or for worse, Blue Lock Season 3 has been confirmed, and despite how much I love the manga, I DO NOT look forward to the next season of the anime adaptation. And I think my reasoning is quite obvious here.
So welcome back to another news article, and today we are talking about Blue Lock Season 3. Not much news to cover, and fair warning, this is about to devolve into a rant session. So let’s get the news out of the way first before I pop a vein.

What do we know about Blue Lock Season 3?
Well, basically nothing. Last week, Blue Lock had their 2025 Egoist Fest, and Season 3 was confirmed to be in production there. That’s about it. If you ask me, we should see the release of Season 3 sometime next year. That’s not all, though. Blue Lock is also getting a live-action adaptation. I have no idea how they will show the intensity of matches in live-action, but they are welcome to try. Hopefully, the live-action version will have more frames than Season 2.
Now, moving on to the reason I am writing this article
My Thoughts
Oh boy, where do I even start with Season 2? You know how the manga’s U-20 Japan match is this high-octane, adrenaline-pumping, career-defining arc where every panel drips with tension and energy? Yeah, well, the anime somehow looked at all of that and went, “What if we just… didn’t?” Instead, what we got was the cinematic equivalent of a high school kid’s PowerPoint presentation running on a Windows XP laptop with three viruses.
Characters froze mid-action like they were waiting for me to click the next slide, and the “dynamic shots” were literally still frames with dramatic zoom-ins. Honestly, I half-expected the Microsoft Office paperclip, Clippy to pop up mid-match and say, “It looks like you’re trying to animate this football. Need some help?”

And the worst part? This wasn’t just any arc. This was the crown jewel of early Blue Lock, the arc that turned casual readers into rabid fans foaming at the mouth for more. And the anime team just… butchered it. Imagine serving someone a prime Kobe steak and then watching them blend it into baby food before proudly handing it back to you like they’ve done you a favor.
That is all for now
I… okay, that is enough ranting for one day. I said I wouldn’t pop a vein, but I did. But yeah, screw Blue Lock Season 3, screw Bandai Namco for ruining one of my favorite sports animes of all time. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya.
