Can You Keep a Secret Anime is Quite Cute

Article at a glance:

  • The anime delivers a simple yet enjoyable romance with plenty of heartwarming and funny moments.
  • Tateishi and Mitsuya are deeply in love, and their attempts to hide it at work add humor and charm.
  • The animation and music are decent, fitting the show’s lighthearted tone despite some flat moments.

Man, I should not have watched this show so close to Single Awareness Day lol. Sure, there isn’t much special about this anime, it is fairly generic wholesome romance anime but sometimes, that is all you need. I’ve lost count of the times this anime made me smile ear to ear like a goofball. I don’t know how the Japanese name for this anime “Kaisha ni Tsuki na Hito ga Imasu” (“I have a Crush at Work”) became “Can You Keep a Secret” in the English release. But I can say one for sure, I am really having fun watching this show.

Not sure what to call this article since I just watched the anime but it is also about time for the mid-season review since 6 episodes are already out. That doesn’t really matter, I guess. Anyway, welcome back to another article and today we are discussing the Can You Keep a Secret anime!

What did I think of the Can You Keep a Secret Anime?

Look, you are not coming to a rom-com/romance anime for its plot. You are here for the relationship and the characters. Can You Keep a Secret handles both the relationship and characters well. Like most romance animes, we don’t have to wait for a confession scene or anything. We just get straight into the relationship phase. The only twist here is that both of our main characters are trying to hide their relationship status from their coworkers just to have some privacy, which is totally fair if you ask me.

Their relationship dynamic is quite funny as well. Both Tateishi and Mitsuya are down bad for each other lol and seeing them do their best to try to hide that fact while at work is hilarious. And this makes the time they spend alone that much more significant. So far, there hasn’t been major character development for either of them and I do wish that more depth is added to the couple as the story goes on. There are some great character moments for both of them sprinkled throughout the show, just need more of them.

Aside from that, the production quality is solid. I like the art style even though the animations seem flat at times. Again, no big deal, fits the tone of the series quite well so I won’t hark on the animations for too long. They work and they are not bad. The opening and ending themes are decent as well.

That is all for now

So yeah, I am really having fun watching Can You Keep a Secret. Even though there are some issues I have with the anime, overall, it is nice, sweet, and wholesome. And sometimes, that is all you need. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. I will take my leave here. See ya!
