Fate/Strange Fake Episode 7 Was Aboslute Cinema!

A1 Pictures, I owe you an apology, I wasn’t familiar with your game. Well, that’s a lie, I guess, since they animated Solo Leveling Season 2, 86, and Lycoris Recoil. But still, Fate/Strange Fake Episode 7 was amazing. The shot composition, the colors, the soundtrack, and the direction in general were fantastic for this episode. And this episode also brought up a lot of interesting plot developments on top of having all that great action. I cannot wait to see how this absolute mayhem develops as things go on.
Welcome back to yet another article on Fate/Strange Fake, where we’re discussing Episode 7, of course. Things just keep on piling up, and I cannot wait to see when everything comes crashing down. Of course, spoilers ahead. I will be name-dropping a rather important character. So continue with that in mind. With that said, let’s get started.
What did I think of Fate/Strange Fake Episode 7?
The whole episode was basically a long fight scene, but we still had quite a bit of plot development. Probably the most important one is the Goddess inside the Einzbern puppet. If you haven’t already figured it out, yes, it is Ishtar. Which Goddess do you know in Fate that has a personality like that and manipulates laser beams/gems to fight? At least that was pretty obvious to me. Yui Makino does such a great job in voicing Ishtar, too lol, it is missing the sheer energy of Kana Ueda’s Ishtar, but it makes perfect sense for a slightly more mature take on Ishtar F/SF goes for.
That said, I have no idea who or what Harli ended up summoning. It is refreshing to see a proper berseker though. Fate series got a little too liberal with the Berserker and Archer classes lol, seeing proper Berserker and Archer class Servants in F/SF is pretty refreshing. And sure enough, Harli’s Berserker does not disappoint. Bro really went on a wreck fest in Bazildot’s workshop. Wish Alcides had more of a presence in the episode, but damn man, the action throughout the episode was really well done.
But Ishtar’s appearance was not the only surprise of this episode. Sigma actually betrayed his superior after realizing they didn’t trust him at all. I absolutely loved how quickly he spilt the beans to Saber, Ayaka, and Assassin after finding out that his own group doesn’t have his back. It is nice to see that despite his messed-up childhood, he is not gone to the point of blindly following orders no matter what at this point. I am really looking forward to seeing how his dynamic with the other cast members develops as the show goes on.
