- Frieren remains unmatched in capturing nostalgia and emotional depth, making its return feel like revisiting a memory you didn’t know you missed.
- With the premiere just weeks away, fans (myself included) are gearing up for another beautifully crafted season of quiet magic, reflection, and adventure.

So, finally, onto a more positive article, yes, I know I am a bit late to cover this, but man, I am so excited about Frieren Season 2. Frieren has been the best anime I can think of in recent memory, and for a good reason. I don’t know what it is, but no other anime is able to replicate the sense of nostalgia Frieren can. Yes, I know it is your usual fantasy anime in many ways, but it is executed so well that it just resonates with me. And I am not the only person who feels like this, given the massive popularity of the anime.
But yeah, Frieren Season 2 is right around the corner. We recently got a bunch of updates on it, including a new trailer. So welcome back to another news article, you know what we are talking about. Let’s get started right away.

What do we know about Frieren Season 2 so far?
About two days ago, on Thursday, Toho Animation revealed a new trailer for Frieren Season 2. This trailer features and previews the ending theme, “The Story of Us” by milet. milet also did the ending theme for the first season, and this song is being specifically recorded for Frieren Season 2. So that’s interesting. Other than that, we know that Season 2 will be coming out on 16th January, 2026. So it is just about 7 weeks away. Tomoya Kitagawa will be taking over as the new director for the season. He was an episode director for the previous season.
Of course, you can watch the trailer right here. The trailer itself doesn’t reveal much, but the new theme song is such a banger. I really look forward to Season 2.
But that covers all the news for now. So let’s move on to
My Thoughts
Watching Frieren isn’t like watching any other anime; it is a whole experience. Despite its mass appeal, Frieren is quite heavy; it makes sure you understand what passage of time, regret, and bonds that span eras can do to you. It is like sitting down and recollecting memories from your past you never knew you had, because how easily this show immerses you into its story. And if that ending theme is anything to go by, this will be another finely crafted delicacy of a season. Hopefully coming in with another batch of 24 episodes or so.
I cannot wait to get back into the Frieren, to experience the same magic as Season 1 all over again. I don’t know how many people will get it, but there’s just something about Frieren that I can’t put into words. It is just that good.
That is all for now
But yeah, that’s enough yapping. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. As you can tell, I am very excited about Frieren Season 2. With that said, though, I will take my leave here. I am off to play ZZZ. See ya!
