Ghost in the Shell Anime Reveals English Dub Cast and Streaming Details

Fans of Ghost in the Shell have exciting news as the new anime series from Science SARU has revealed its English dub cast. The announcement came from Anime Limited’s All the Anime official account on X/Twitter.

Suzie Yeung will voice Motoko Kusanagi, leading the English cast. Other notable roles include SungWon Cho as Daisuke Aramaki, Bill Butts as Batou, and Nick Apostolides as Togusa. The cast is rounded out by John Bentley as Ishikawa, Tony Weaver Jr. as Saito, and Lizzie Freeman as the voice of the Fuchikoma. Additionally, many talented voice actors contribute with supporting and extra roles.

The anime is set to premiere on July 7 on Japanese TV via Kansai TV and Fuji TV’s new anime block “Ka-Anival!!,” airing at 11:00 p.m. JST. The series will then begin streaming on Prime Video Japan at 11:30 p.m. JST the same day. International fans will be able to watch it simultaneously on Prime Video in over 240 countries and regions, excluding mainland China, Russia, and Vietnam.

Before the official premiere, the first two English-dubbed episodes will be shown in the U.K. on June 26. They will also be screened at Anime Expo on July 4, followed by a panel featuring director Mokochan and animation director Shūhei Handa.

Mokochan marks his directorial debut with this series at Science SARU. The anime’s story scripts are overseen by Toh Enjoe, known for his work on Space Dandy and Godzilla Singular Point. Shūhei Handa leads character design and animation direction, while the soundtrack is crafted by Taisei Iwasaki, Ryō Konishi, and Yuki Kanesaka.

The production brings together Bandai Namco Filmworks, Kodansha, Science SARU, and Production I.G. This collaboration follows the series announcement made in May 2024.

Tragically, longtime Motoko Kusanagi voice actress Atsuko Tanaka passed away in August 2024. This new series honors her legacy by introducing a fresh cast to continue the iconic role.

With strong storytelling, a talented cast, and global streaming, the new Ghost in the Shell anime is shaping up to be a significant chapter for franchise fans.
