Remember how excited and happy I was when we got back-to-back sequel announcements for great shows like Frierena and Grand Blue? Well, that happiness and excitement has just been sucked out of me with this news. WHY? Why is some show that’s only meant for fan service like Gushing Over Magical Girls is getting a Season 2 while so many other deserving shows never get a sequel? And don’t use that “oh because Gushing Over Magical Girls is popular” argument on me. No Game No Life is popular, for God’s sake. That never got a sequel.
Yeah, stuff like this just further erodes my trust in humanity. Freaking Rent a Girlfriend has 4 seasons… Let that sink in. If you haven’t figured it out already, this is going to be a rant. This won’t be no news article covering Gushing Over Magical Girls Season 2. No, this will be a full-blown rant. Let’s get into it.
About Gushing Over Magical Girls Season 2
So there was this event called Mahouka SM Dai Kansha-sai yesterday and that event announced that a second season of Gushing Over Magical GIrls is under production. They haven’t announced anything else just yet but I am sure more details will come out over time. Cause you know, as much as I don’t want it to, this anime will come out. Every day we stray further away from God…

The Rant
Okay, I don’t even know if I can describe my feelings about this show without using explicit language. But I will try regardless. First up, if you like this show… I don’t want to say it but you have issues. Gushing Over Magical Girls is literally about a girl SA’ing other girls and I don’t think they’re even in high school. If you don’t see anything wrong with that premise, I don’t know what to tell you. I’ve seen people argue that the popularity of this show suggests that people just want good unfiltered ecchi. But if you ask me, there are more tasteful ways to do ecchi.
Take To Love Ru or even god forbid, High School DxD for example. Gushing Over Magical Girls just straight up makes me uncomfortable. I understand that this kind of stuff is subjective and all but come on, this is not it, guys. What the hell? At this point, you might as well go to this wonderful website called R34, you’ll find better content there than this anime.

Yeah, the only reason I did this article was because I wanted to rant about Gushing Over Magical Girls getting a Season 2, even though more deserving shows exist. I know it’s popular and all but again, this is not it. I hope this is the last time I have to talk about this anime. So yeah, let me know what you guys think in the comments.
