Hell’s Paradise Season 2 Episode 2 was Quite Something…

Article at a glance:
- Season 2 wastes no time, two episodes in, and we already have insane action, striking visuals, and a brutal reminder of how dangerous this island really is.
- Gabimaru remains the most fascinating part, an unreliable narrator torn between his “true self” and Iwagakure’s programming, making every moment with him feel unsettling.
- Strong character moments alongside spectacle, from intense fights to quieter scenes with Gabimaru, Season 2 is balancing depth and chaos really well so far.

Right, Episode 2 just dropped a few hours ago, and yeah, Hell’s Paradise Season 2 has been an absolute treat so far. We’ve had an insane fight just 2 episodes in, and Episode 2 was a nice look at Gabimaru’s “true self.” I absolutely love how unreliable a narrator Gabimaru continues to be. He has been brainwashed so much by Iwagakure. It is genuinely hard to tell which side of him is real and which side is just village programming. I cannot wait to see how Season 2 expands on the mysteries of the island and Gabumaru himself in the future episodes.
So welcome back to another first impressions article. With Episode 2 out, it is the perfect time to talk about Hell’s Paradise Season 2. So let’s get started right away,
Also, spoiler alert!

My Thoughts on Hell’s Paradise Season 2 so far
Episode 1 already featured insane action with the fight between Gabimaru and Choubei. Both their abilities look incredible. This is the first taste we get of Gabimaru fighting without any self-preservation in mind. For a while, after losing his memories, he went back to the village programming for a bit and was fighting with reckless abandon. I also like how it is Sagiri who realized that Gabimaru had lost his memories. She knows him well enough to understand that normal Gabimaru wouldn’t even think of dying since he wants to return to his wife.
Oh yeah, speaking of Sagiri, Episode 2 has a hilarious scene of her holding down Gabimaru to treat him lol. Look, bro, you don’t need to do all this. I liked Sagiri as is as a kuudere, but dommy mommy Sagiri? Sign me up, right now. In fact, I am on the floor right this moment to be used. Now, being down bad aside, that scene really was a choice. Now I know that bochu justsu is a thing, and well, you know what? I am not about to make this even more awkward for me than it already is.

But yeah, 2 episodes in, and we have already seen quite a bit of strange locations. The inside of the Palace looks so damn creepy in the manga, and the anime has been doing a great job of translating it over so far. Obviously, since it’s Mappa, we are being treated with top-tier visuals. The opening and ending themes are nice. I do miss the Season 1 opening, but the new one is good too. Also, yeah, I forgot to mention, but I really liked the scene of Gabimaru talking about his wife, even though what Yuzuriha said made way more sense.
That is all for now
But yeah, between all the insane animations and art, and a deeper look into Gabimaru’s character, Hell’s Paradise Season 2 is off to an amazing start. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. I will take my leave here. See ya!
