Just two episodes, and this anime has already entertained me more than any other rom-com this year. There is just something about Horimiya that I cannot find in other rom-coms. I am so glad that CloverWorks decided to make Horimiya: Piece because the experience of this series is invaluable.

Now, since this season is a collection of side stories that CloverWorks didn’t adapt in the original anime, it feels kind of disjointed at times. But if you have watched the original anime, it should not be a problem.

So welcome back to another one of my first impressions articles. Today I am talking about Horimiya: Piece. God, I love this series so far. So let’s get started.

Horimiya: The Missing Pieces- All you need to know about the new season

What do I think about Horimiya: Piece?

So as I said, there is just something about Horimiya that I cannot find in another rom-com. The character interactions and the characters in this anime are just something else. No matter where you are in the plot, the character interactions always carry this anime hard. The comedy is on point, as always, with some side-hurting scenes. It is amazing how this anime manages to keep you entertained despite being a collection of short stories from the manga.

Yes, the short stories feel rather disjointed at times, and it is hard to place them exactly in the timeline, but if you have watched the original series, it should not be a problem. Man, I wish they adapted these together with the original anime like the manga, but to be honest, I don’t mind. I am just elated to have more Horimiya content to watch. I can see some people having issues with the disjointed nature, but I don’t have a problem with it myself.

But yes, that is one of the potential criticisms of the series so far as the episodic nature may not appeal to everyone. Because of that, there is no overall ‘plot’ in Horimiya: Piece. If you can put that aside, the characters, the comedy, and the character interactions are on point and amazing, as always. I am enjoying the hell out of this series so, and it reminded me of why I loved Horimiya so much in the first place.

I am biased as hell here so please forgive me. But so far, Horimiya: Piece is another 10/10 for me, just like the original series. Let me know what you guys think in the comments, I love the series, and with that said I will take my leave here. See ya!

Check out my first impressions of Atelier Ryza here, and please forgive my bias. I just can’t be normal when it comes to Horimiya.
