So, there’s this announcement at the Fantasia Bunko Thanksgiving Festival 2023 about a new anime project for “I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World.” The details are scarce at the moment.
Personally, I can’t deny that this anime is kind of generic and, well, not critically acclaimed. I cringed a few times, to be honest. But strangely, I enjoy it in a “so bad it’s good” way.
I’m not sure what this new project will be, but I’m leaning towards a second season. I’m conflicted because, while I kind enjoyed the first season, there are other anime out there more deserving of a sequel, in my opinion. We’ll see how it unfolds.

I was really debating if I should make this article or not. As you see the show in question is extremely generic despite having some cool ideas. So why did I end up making this article? Well, I have some things to say about this anime. And don’t get me wrong, critically speaking, this anime is garbage. I physically cringed a few times while watching it. But even then I like it in a “so bad it’s good” kind of way and actually wouldn’t mind seeing more of it, as weird as that may sound.

What do we know about the I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World new anime?

The Fantasia Bunko Thanksgiving Festival 2023 event announced that a new anime project is in the works for this series. To commemorate this announcement, Rein Kuwashima, the original illustrator drew an illustration as well. And yeah, that is literally all we got for now. No details on what this “project ” is going to be, so yeah that is all the news for now.

So let’s move on to

My Thoughts

No offense to the series but I don’t really think that it is deserving of a sequel treatment. Because at the end of the day, it is another very generic isekai that is really predictable. Yes, I did enjoy season 1 and I did say I wouldn’t mind getting more of it, I also can’t ignore the fact that there are a ton of other anime that deserve a sequel more than this. So I am in a very complex position when it comes to my thoughts on this announcement.

I know that they didn’t explicitly say that this new project will be a sequel but come on, what else could it feasibly be? It is definitely not a movie because this anime isn’t nearly popular enough to fill theaters, OVA/Specials are still an option but they are pretty unlikely in my opinion. So I am about 80% sure that it is going to be a 2nd season. But we will see how it turns out in the end.
