Jujutsu Kaisen is Getting Prequel Movie!

So, another good anime ended. We don’t have an official announcement regarding Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 but, we are getting a movie that will adapt the 4 chapter prequel manga which is  “Tokyo Toritsu Jujutsu Koutou Senmon Gakkou”. Thankfully, the movie does not have a long name, it is Jujutsu Kaisen 0. The story of this prequel will come into play in the upcoming arc of anime. For now though:

What do we know about the movie?

The movie protagonist will be Okkotsu Yuuta, a 3^rd-year student in the Tokyo School and is studying abroad. So far, he is mentioned once in Jujutsu Kaisen. If I remember correctly, Gojou Sensei mentioned him twice or thrice, twice by Maki, and then Kugisaki mentioned once (she was angry at him, though). In the upcoming Shibuya arc of Jujutsu Kaisen, Okkotsu will return to Japan, and hence, his backstory in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will become relevant. From what we have heard from the people who mentioned him, he is very strong. Gojou sensei even says he will surpass him in a few years, and we all know how strong Gojou sensei is. This gives us a slight insight into how strong we could expect Okkotsu to be.

So, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 starts with the death of Okkotsu’s childhood friend Rika. After her death, Rika’s ghost haunted Okkotsu. Her ghost, nowhere close to the sweet girl she once was. She soon turns very violent and is eventually taken care of by Jujutsu sorcerors. Among the sorcerors is Gojou sensei, who invites Yuuta to join the Jujutsu High School, where he eventually discovers that the world of Jujutsu is much more messed up than just wicked or cursed spirits.
