I am writing this at 3 am. So if I make a mistake, please forgive me. My warning aside and all though, this was hands down one of the best weeks of the season so far. And I largely attribute that to how good episode 2 of Kaiju No. 8 was. Episode 1 was good, don’t get me wrong but the main hook for the series is going to be episode 2, in my opinion. Because if this episode didn’t sell you on the series, I don’t know what will.

That wasn’t the only good episode this week though. We had a whole bunch of really good episodes this week and things show no signs of slowing down. The most surprisingly good episode from this week has to be Wind Breaker Episode 3, in my opinion. Of course, I will talk about why that episode was so good in a bit. But other than that, Whisper Me a Love Song continues to be a joy to watch and Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Part 2 also did something interesting.

So let’s talk about it all. From Kaiju No. 8 Episode 2 to Wind Break Episode 3, let’s talk about everything. Welcome back, it is 3rd week of the Spring 2024 season, and here are my favorite episodes of the week!

Wind Breaker Episode 3

You know that an episode is good when you don’t even realize it is over. This episode was like that for me and I am sure it is going to have a whole bunch of long-term consequences. So in this episode, we finally got introduced to one of the rival gangs Bofurin protects the city from. Sakura being Sakura, does not hold back and ends up provoking the high-ranking member of the rival gang.

The episode did an incredible job of maintaining tension. As soon as we meet guys from the other gang, we know that things won’t resolved easily. And that is exactly what happens. Aside from that, the episode also showcases how Sakura is slowly getting to used being treated normally for the first time in his life. I think it will be interesting to see how the rival gang retaliates.

Whisper Me a Love Song Episode 2

Once again, I love the energy and the tone this anime is going for. Watching this episode immediately put a smile on my face. And boy oh boy, I did not see the ending of this episode coming. I won’t spoil it since I think you should watch it for yourself but it was a nice little surprise as well. But I would have still put this episode here even if it wasn’t for the last scene because the rest of the episode was great as well.

Kino was adorable and entertaining throughout the episode like he always is, she complements Yori perfectly in different scenes and that makes watching these two do different things a joy, That is pretty much what all of this episode felt like and I enjoyed it a lot. Really looking forward to next week’s episode now. That ending scene has made me quite curious.

Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Part 2 Episode 3

Don’t miss the post-credits scene of the episode! It is very small, just 30 or seconds long but it is a very important scene! To be honest, though, this episode did not go how I expected it to go. Basically what happens in this episode is that one of Nanahoshi’s experiments fails and she has a breakdown because of it. And seeing a character that is usually very calm and composed break down like that hurt.

And I could understand her frustration. So the rest of the episode was spent trying out things to fix her issues and caring for her. This was a very intense episode. Some of the scenes with Nanhoshi really hurt to watch. Another great episode in the books from Mushoku Tensei. Also, that 30-second post-credits scene said so much in so little time. I can already guess what next week’s episode will be like and I look forward to it.

Go Go Loser Ranger Episode 3

Man, this episode was filled with so much chaos. Every time I thought things would be fine after this, this episode threw a twist at me. It was a wild ride in the best possible way. The episode itself even starts with a twist. I don’t know what the deal with the other guy is but he is just as suspicious as Suzukiri at the moment. Despite knowing everything, he is willing to accept D into the squad because of his twisted sense of justice. Well, at least he is honest about it.

As we saw in the last episode, to permanently kill the monsters, a Divine Weapon is needed. But during the scheduled fake battles, the Keepers won’t be using the real ones so the real ones will be up for grabs. And that is pretty much what the whole episode is based around. And as I said, it was a wild ride in the best possible way and I enjoyed it a lot. Also once again, the ending was genuinely unexpected.

Kaiju No. 8 Episode 2

Episode 2 of Kaiju No. 8 had no reason to be as good as it was. Episode 1 was decent but Episode 2 is amazing. There is so much crammed into this episode, that it is very hard to get bored at any point during it. So following the end of the last episode, we continue with Kafka running away from the hospital in his newly acquired Kaiju form as he tries to get a hold of his new body. He uses his newfound strength to save a little girl and her mother from a Kaiju and he genuinely gets emotional when the girl thanks him for it despite being scared of his appearance.

This episode is full of small things like this that make Kaijo No. 8 good. I’ll say it again, Kaiju No. 8 might have one of the best episode 2 I have watched in a while. The episode had everything from plot progression to character development to a bit of fighting as well. It was awesome.

That is all for now!

Those were my favorite episodes of the week! Let me know yours in the comments below and I will take my leave here, I am really sleepy. See ya!
