KonoSuba Season 3 Episode 1 Was Fun!

Key points for KonoSuba Season 3 Episode 1 review:

  • Episode 1 of KonoSuba Season 3 delves into Kazuma’s post-traumatic stress disorder with hilariously relatable results, setting the tone for the season.
  • The episode cleverly sets up future plot points while delivering the classic KonoSuba brand of comedic chaos, with the girls attempting to thwart Kazuma’s plans in their own quirky ways.
  • The joy of the series is palpable as the voice actors bring the characters to life with improvised lines and infectious enthusiasm, making the return of KonoSuba a delight for fans.

Alright, I can finally talk about KonoSuba Season 3, episode 1 and episode 2 were leaked last week and I did get a chance to watch them. But, I did not talk about them just to avoid trouble. Again, I am not quite sure what the official status of the release is over at Crunchyroll. So in this article too, I will avoid talking about episode 2 which is scheduled for next week. And only focus on episode 1.

The official release date of KonoSuba Season 3 Episode 1 was 10th April, today is the 13th so it is safe to talk about it now lol. So welcome back to another edition of our first impressions series. This week we are talking about KonoSuba Season 3! Again, only episode 1 for now even though I have watched episode 2 as well. So don’t worry about any kind of spoilers. Let’s get started.

What do I think of KonoSuba Season 3 Episode 1?

First of all man, the opening to this episode was funny as hell. It served as a nice quick recap and it also showed us Kazuma’s mental state after the “incident” with Sylvia. My boy is still having nightmares about that. It is straight-up PTSD, not even just nightmares lol. And this PTSD pretty much drives the whole episode. Everything Kazuma does in this episode is related to or driven by this PTSD.

At one point, he snaps at some dude because he was standing behind him and it was hilarious. I don’t blame him, if something like that happened to me as well, I wouldn’t let people stand behind me for a while. So yeah after that, he asks the guild receptionist for the location of the nearest temple with as strict a faith as possible. And the usual KonoSuba shenanigans ensue with the girls trying to stop him from rejecting everything lol.

This episode also sets up a couple of plot points. One of them is followed up on right in episode 2. The second one may be important later on. But yeah, a really fun episode overall. It was the usual KonoSuba brand of comedy and god did I miss it. I love that it is very apparent that the voice actors also have a blast recording for this series. Some of the best lines in the show like “Hai, hai, Kazuma desu” are improvised lol. Man, I missed KonoSuba and I am so glad that it is back. This episode was a perfect intro for this new season.

That is all for now!

I had a lot of fun watching KonoSuba Season 3 Episode 1, let me know your thoughts in the comments. I will take my leave here. See ya!
