Let’s Talk About Classroom of the Elite Season 2

This is not a final review or one of my mid-season reviewsβ’. This is not a review at all, I just wanted to talk a bit about Classroom of the Elite season 2. Now I won’t lie, I originally wanted to turn this article into a mid-season reviewΒ but, it is a bit too late for that and it is too early for the final review. But, I didn’t get many chances to talk about it during this season so it is getting a bit of special treatment.
It is no secret that we Classroom of the Elite fans wanted a season 2 for a very long time. At the same though, we were extremely concerned about how the LN will be adapted. Some of those concerns were kind of well warranted. So let’s talk about it in detail today. I have some things I would like to say after watching the past few episodes and this is a good time for it. Let’s get right into it.
Is the season good?
Well, I am not sure as of now. The first few episodes showcased every worry we LN readers had about the anime. You see we were concerned about skips and rushed volumes. That is exactly what happened in the first few episodes. The whole ship arc and sports festival arc had massive content cut out from them. And they were very much shorter compared to the LN. If I only watched that part, I’d have said that Classroom of the Elite season 2 is without a doubt, a bad adaptation.
But I can’t say that, why? Because the last few episodes have been so so good. It is like the exam arc is adapted by an entirely different team. They improved the pacing, each scene is done with more care and attention. This is what a proper adaptation of Classroom of the Elite should go like. The mysteries were very well preserved and in the upcoming episodes, one of the best scenes of the LN is coming. I really do hope they manage to nail that scene as hard as they nailed the exam arc.
My Verdict on this Situation?
I am very much divided about Classroom of the Elite Season 2 as of now. The first 2 arcs were extremely rushed and had a lot of feels cut out of them. They felt very short and bland compared to the LN. The last few episodes on the other hand though, have been awesome. They nailed the feeling and Ayanokoji’s slight character development in them really well. These episodes were why I put my mid-season review on hold.
I will solidify my opinion on Classroom of the Elite season 2 only after I watch the last episode. Because as of now, the series is very much on the fence for me. As things stand right now, I’d rate season 2 a fair (IMO)Β 6/10.Β This could easily go up to anΒ 8Β depending on how well they adapt the coming few episodes.
Conclusion
Well, that is all for now. Those were my genuine thoughts on Classroom of the Elite season 2. Let me know whatΒ youΒ guys think in the comments. Look forward to my review on the series, which will be coming up in a few weeks of course. With that said, I will take my leave here. There is another matter that requires my attention, you’ll see the article soon enough. See ya!
