May I Ask for One Final Thing Review

Article at a glance:
- Fall 2025 has already delivered some surprises, and May I Ask for One Final Thing turned out to be way more entertaining than expected.
- It’s not groundbreaking, but its sharp pacing, chaotic protagonist, and surprisingly fun character dynamics make it stand out.
- Despite a few missed opportunities in world-building, the anime delivers consistent enjoyment and some truly satisfying moments.

Kind of insane that we only have 4 weeks and change remaining in 2025. It feels like the year started just a few months ago, but in reality, 11 months have passed already. Either way, though, we are here at the first review for the Fall 2025 season, and I have decided to start with May I Ask for One Final Thing. Despite not being anything out of this world, this anime has been really entertaining. And yeah, as always, even though I really enjoyed it, there are a few things I wish the anime did better.
So welcome to another anime review, and today we are talking about May I Ask for One Final Thing! I’ve been itching to talk about this, so let’s just get started.
Oh yeah, there will be spoilers in the plot section.

Plot
The plot isn’t like the deepest thing ever, but the storytelling is decent. It is paced well, for the most part. Yes, the first 2 episodes are a bit slow, but after that, it doesn’t slow down at all. The setting is based on a typical “villainess” story, but the difference and USP here is that the villainess likes to punch people. Scarlet doesn’t fight for justice or something like that, no, she just beats up people who annoy her or hurt those close to her. I appreciate how little the “isekai” part plays in the plot; it’s a nice change of pace.
Also, I wish the whole thing about everything happening because of a lovers’ quarrel between the Gods is an interesting idea, but I wish that whole thing had been introduced a bit earlier. Episode 9 is a bit too late to introduce a plot point like that, I think. This whole arc with the Saint has been very interesting. I just wish that it got more time; we could’ve gotten so much more world-building that way. But despite the minor complaints, the story remains compelling because of the characters.

Characters
Scarlet is a good example of a flat character done right. She doesn’t have a character arc in this season, but she has a distinct character, and because of her actions, you just want to root for her. The show also does a good job of reminding you that most characters in this show are just assholes. Nanaka and Diana are the only ones with proper character arcs in this season, and yeah, both of them have decent character arcs. Be it Julius or Dios, characterization remains a strong point of this anime, even though it is stagnant for the most part.
Even Ternezza makes for a good antagonist. Like her characterization does such a great job of making her absolutely HATEABLE. And yeah, that’s the point. A god literally created her out of spite, of course, she’s so hateable.

Production
The animations and art style are pretty good. The animation can look a little wonky at times, but I tell you what, though, they never fail to convey the weight of Scarlet’s punches. Scarlet’s punches always look satisfying, and yeah, they do a great job of making them look brutal. Also, both the opening and ending themes are absolute bangers, especially the ending theme. So yeah, for a random seasonal anime, the production is pretty good.
Summing Up
Here are my final review scores for May I Ask for One Final Thing:
- Plot – 6/10
- Characters – 8/10
- Production – 7/10
- Enjoyment – 9/10
- Overall – 7.5/10
But yeah, that concludes my review. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. I will take my leave here. See ya!
