Misfit of Demon King Academy Season 2 Postponed
Another anime falls to COVID. Seriously the situation in Japan got really bad a little while ago, and it looks like things haven’t improved particularly yet. This is the 3rd anime that has been postponed this season. I feel really bad saying this but, it is the truth. The broadcast of Misfit of Demon King Academy has been postponed indefinitely because of COVID.
So welcome to another news article. Let’s talk about the postponement announcement of Misfit of Demon Kind Academy today. As always, I will cover the news first and save my thoughts for later on. There are some interesting things I’d like to point out after covering the news. So for now, let’s just get started on the news.
About the Delay…
The official website of Misfit of Demon King Academy anime announced that from episode 7 onwards will be postponed indefinitely. Of course, they cited COVID as a reason. Episodes 1 to 6 will be rebroadcasted from February 19 onwards. No news on when the remaining 6 episodes will be released, just like the NieR: Automata announcement. But I’d like to assume that it will be back in the spring or summer season. Again, just my speculation, nothing more than that.
My Thoughts
This announcement coming right now is interesting. Because the number of COVID cases in Japan has gone down quite a bit in recent weeks. The number peaked once again after the 2nd wave around 10th January but, then it back down again. So why did they announce a delay now? I am going to guess it is because they weren’t able to work back then and probably failed to get the anime back on time. You know, fair enough it is possible that they tried but couldn’t do it.
But again, I don’t mind if an anime is delayed because of COVID. The people working on the anime are humans too, and you know, the animation isn’t something you can work on from your home for the most part. I am just curious why this delay was announced nowΒ and not when Kubo-san and NieR: Automata announced their delay. Kubo-san too was delayed from episode 7 onwards. So the thought just popped into my mind.
Anyhow, as I said, I think Misfit of Demon King Academy will make its return in the spring or summer season. Pretty sure they will re-air the whole thing like Kubo-san. I think we will receive more updates on the delay soon enough. Hopefully, this anime returns soon because the plot has been getting quite interesting. The plot twist in the recent episodes was definitely something I didn’t see coming.

That is all for now. I am really sad that another anime got delayed but again, fair enough.
