Mushoku Tensei Season 3 Episode 10 Review: A Close Call

Mushoku Tensei Season 3 has been amazing so far. I meant to write an article last week, given just how good Episode 9 was. But I decided against it because Bleach won, no contest, last week. So I wanted to keep that as the final article for last week. Regardless, Mushoku Tensei Season 3 Episode 10 was another strong outing, even if it wasn’t quite as hard-hitting as Episode 9. It was a lot of fun, and it gave us a bunch more world-building, which is always appreciated. Sure, it wasn’t as hard-hitting as Episode 9, but not all episodes can be that way.
So yeah, welcome back to another article, and we’re once again taking a look at Mushoku Tensei Season 3. We’re just a few weeks away from the finale, so I am very interested in seeing how this cour of Mushoku Tensei will conclude. Regardless, let’s get started.
My Thoughts on Mushoku Tensei Season 3 Episode 10
First and foremost, let me give Episode 9 its flowers. This isn’t the first time Mushoku Tensei has shown the “ugly” side of getting isekai’d. Nanahoshi had a breakdown in Season 2 as well when she failed to figure out a way to go back. Now, her breakdown was much worse because she is dying. And it hits harder because she thinks that she’ll die without ever being able to see her parents again. It was genuinely difficult to watch. And even Rudy felt it this time since he himself is a parent now. And the thought of not being able to see his family again scares him too.
Which brings us to a pretty brilliant character moment in Episode 10. Just when Rudy thinks he’s about to die, he apologizes to Sylphie, saying that he might not make it back. I like how everyone is willing to die just to be able to take the cure back to Nanahoshi. Episode 10 was also a cool moment to remind everyone that no matter how strong Rudy may seem, there are people WAY above his pay grade. Moore wasn’t a stronger mage than Rudy, per se, but he still left Rudy in shambles with his quick wit and experience.
I really liked seeing Kishirika again, and Atofe was a pretty entertaining temporary antagonist. She seemed to have history with Perugius, though, and she IS the founder of the North God style, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she returns in the future. For now, at least, everyone seems to be alive, and a cure for Nanahoshi seems to be secured. I don’t know what awaits us in the next episode, but Episode 10 really was a close call for Rudy and friends. If Atofe hadn’t sent her soldiers ahead to Perugius’s ship, causing Perugius himself to investigate, things would’ve ended really badly for Rudy’s party.

But yeah, let me know what you guys think of Mushoku Tensei Season 3 so far. I have been really enjoying this season. I think Season 3 so far hasn’t been as good as Season 2, but all that might change once Season 3 Part 2 drops. Either way, I still like it, though. I look forward to the upcoming episodes and can’t wait to see how Part 1 of Season 3 concludes. With that said, though, I will take my leave here. See ya!
