My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 Episode 5 Was Hilarious

This episode wasn’t just funny—it had some really sweet character moments, especially for Gojo, who’s been growing a lot lately.
If you’re only here for the fan service, you’re missing out—My Dress-Up Darling has heart, and Episode 5 is proof of that.

It’s episodes like this that remind me of why I like this anime. I know the anime is famous for all of its fan service. But honestly, people who only see that are missing out. My Dress-Up Darling is more than just a girl wanting to cosplay, and Season 2 Episode 5 is a pretty good example of that. Not only was the episode really funny, but it also had a bunch of good character moments. Gojo’s character growth in the past few episodes has been quite heartwarming, and that’s another thing episode 5 got right.

So welcome back to another mid-season review. I know I am a little early, but I just wanted to talk about My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 Episode 5. That’s how much I liked this episode. Of course, not that it matters much for an anime like this, but spoilers for episode 5 ahead only continue if you have watched it. With that said, let’s get into it.

My Thoughts on My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 Episode 5

It is time for the cultural festival arc. Cultural Festivals are such a huge part of any high-school anime, lol, it was bound to come to MDUD sooner or later, and here we are. First off, I really appreciate how much interaction Season 2 has shown between Gojo and his other classmates. He didn’t really speak with others before, but now we get to see him actually get chances to socialize at school, and I appreciate that. I like how in Episode 5, he comes to understand that he can’t do everything alone.

I also like how supportive their classmates are. They understand Gojo needs to make Marin’s outfit for the Paegant, so they decide not to bother him with the other prep work unless necessary. IRL classmates may not be that sweet, but it does feel good seeing small things like this in an anime. Especially since Gojo has had bad experiences with classmates in the past. Oh yeah, this episode also reminded me how good Marin’s VA is at vocalizing her insane love rants. Shoutout to Hina Suguta for her awesome work lol.

Oh yeah, of course, some poor dude mistook Amane for an actual girl and asked Gojo to introduce them lol. Bro had the same reaction and feelings as all of us lol. All in all, episode 5 was a great blend of character moments, wholesome stuff, and some really funny moments. Probably my favorite episode of Season 2 so far.
