NieR Automata Anime is Back!!
Things weren’t looking great for the anime industry in the last few weeks of January. We had like 4 or 5 postponement announcements one after another. Both of Silver Link’s animes from this season are still delayed indefinitely. But, it looks like we are starting to recover bit by bit from that wave of COVID as NieR Automata made its return this week with the 4th episode.
So welcome to another one of my articles! Consider this my “mid-season” review for NieR Automata anime. I know, it is a bit early but hey, the anime just returned so it deserves a shout-out! I am really happy to see this anime return, as I’ve said countless times before, it is one of my most anticipated animes of this season. So let’s get started right away.
What do I think of NieR Automata so far?
Let me start by saying, episode 4 was amazing. It was well worth the 3 weeks delay because of the effort they put into that episode. The boss fight showcased in episode 4 is the first really heavy boss fight in NieR Automata and I absolutely love how they adapted it into the anime. The game is known for its beautiful music, and sure enough, A1 Pictures brought back some of the soundtracks from the game and it felt awesome.
I saw someone complaining that the anime adds nothing new, it is just a retelling of the game’s story. I think that is the whole point of this anime. To spread this beautiful story to people who don’t have time to get through the game! And I see nothing wrong with that, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Although, I will say that it is still too early to think that Yoko Taro isn’t planning something different. That guy is known to be a troll after all.
The soundtracks, the animations, and the direction were all really good. I am really satisfied with how well episode 4 turned out to be and I am definitely way more excited for the whole thing now than before. Can’t wait to see the Adam and Eve boss fight in the anime. My expectations have seriously gone up because of episode 4. A1 Pictures, please don’t disappoint after coming so far, I have faith in you!
Conclusion
As things stand right now, NieR Automata gets an easyΒ 9/10. An amazing game turned into an amazing anime, I can hardly wait for more episodes. Seriously I am so glad that the delay was only 3 weeks long just as I thought. I was prepared to wait till the next season but, looks like it won’t come to that and I am happy about it.
