Man, this anime has just been a gift that keeps on giving. I thought the show would fall off after episode 3 since the protagonist, whom we all initially came to love, Rafal died. But, no, even after that, the characters About the Movements of the Earth has introduced us to so far all have a distinct personality and the show spends so much time showing each of their journeys. And as I said, it has only been getting better weekly. I don’t have a single bad thing to say about this show, that is how good it has been so far!

So yeah, welcome back to another mid-season review. Yes, mid-season review because this anime will run for 24 episodes! Since today, we have been talking about Orb: About the Movements of Earth! Let’s get started,

What do I think of About The Movement of the Earth?

Man, the narrative of this show is unparalleled. It tells a gripping tale of people trying to find the truth about the planets and Earth in a world where critical thinking is frowned upon. Any form of logical thinking that goes against religious dogma is punished harshly and heavily. Because of how oppressive the world is, the characters feel that much more human and relatable. As Rafal said before dying, the Church can’t stop people from looking for the truth. It is human nature.

And then on top of providing such a gripping story, the anime also has some amazing character arcs, There isn’t a “protagonist” after Rafal died. And let me just say, in just 3 episodes they created such an amazing story arc for him. But the show switches its focus between characters, giving a look at their story and how that character pushed the plot forward in their own way. I have really liked this pattern so far, let’s see how things change going forward. I do miss Rafal but the new characters are also just so well-written.

The animations and soundtracks are fantastic as well. The art is beautiful, especially the night sky we see again and again in the show. Someone worked really hard on that and it is paying off. There is one minor issue I do have with the animations though. Sometimes things are a bit too dark. Like in Episode 4, it was very difficult to see what was going on. Now, this could be just me. If your display has more contrast, you may have a better experience. But so far, that is the only complaint I have from this show.
