Oshi no Ko Manga Ending is Not Looking Good…

Okay, what is it with major mangas having rushed and unsatisfying endings? Has any major manga since Attack on Titan had a good ending? This year alone we had My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen. What in the world is going on here? And now Oshi no Ko is on that list too, it had an obvious ending in sight but nah, Aka had to screw us over. And Aka’s recent statements don’t help its case at all. Why have ALL the recent major manga endings been like this man, this is frustrating.
So yeah, let’s talk about the upcoming Oshi no Ko manga ending. I don’t look forward to it, the review for the final chapter is going to be another long rant. Of course, HUGE spoiler warning. This article will be going over MASSIVE spoilers about the final arc and the ending. So proceed at your own risk. Let’s get started.
About Oshi no Ko manga ending…
I think most fans can agree that the final arc overall had been a step down in quality compared to what we’ve come to expect of Oshi no Ko. Still, it was by no means bad… until now. Because what happened in the recent 2-3 chapters is atrocious and unforgivable in my opinion. You see, this drives me nuts because Oshi no Ko had an obvious ending in sight, and sure, that might not be too exciting but we would have understood if the manga just ended with the release of the 15-Year Lie project and Ruby performing at the Tokyo Dome or something.
But nah, Aka decided to kill off Aqua and Hikaru in a very stupid way and for no reason basically. Aqua stabbed himself and tackled Hikaru off a cliff to frame it as a murder-suicide. And he basically took Akane and Kana’s character development with him down that cliff along with him. It was all to “protect Ruby” but that excuse is bullshit, in my opinion. Because there were certainly better ways to go about it, not to mention, it is unlike Aqua to do stuff like this.
Sure, we needed a conclusion for Ai’s death with Hikaru but come on, it did NOT have to come to this.
Well, the final chapter drops next week. We will likely get to see Ruby performing at the Tokyo Dome and paying tribute to Aqua and Ai or something. At least that’s one good thing in this whole mess, right? At least Ruby gets to live Ai’s dream. Yeah, man, I don’t know what else to say. And Aka saying that “not all characters will receive detailed conclusions” just feels like salt in the wounds.

The finale comes out on the 14th of November in Japan. If I recall correctly, there’s a pretty big event planned for the Oshi no Ko ending release in Japan. Again, I don’t look forward to it because the review for it will probably be another big rant. I am just really tired of otherwise good mangas being dragged down by rushed garbage endings/final arcs. This is happening for the 3rd time in a row this year. But yeah that’s all for now… I- I’ll go focus on something more positive now. See ya!
