The Summer 2024 season is almost at its end. We only have one more week to go before the Fall 2024 season officially begins, taking away my sleep. Man, I am sleep-deprived as is too. But since we are approaching the end of this season, multiple animes concluded this week, and man, despite this season seeming underwhelming at first, I’ve grown fond of it. Something like Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 11 or Too Many Losing Heroines Episode 11 is a perfect example of why I still liked this season.

Yeah, Oshi no Ko went ahead and did something crazy again. Too Many Losing Heroines had a surprisingly serious and emotional episode. The same could be said for Vtuber Legend, I didn’t expect its season finale to leave me emotional. Wistoria had an amazing action-packed episode. Alya had a great episode too, that didn’t feel like a season finale but was still fun. Shikanoko being Shikanoko had the most random possible season finale and it worked.

So yeah, strap in. This is the second last week of Summer 2024 anime season. We are talking about everything from Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 11 to Wistoria Episode 11. Here are my favorite episodes of the week!

Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan Episode 12

Man, seriously, what a random season finale. But it works because it is Shikanoko. The post-credits scene in the last episode was literally there to troll us. Koshitan does bring it up but it is brushed off quickly by Nokotan as nothing. So many random plot developments in this episode are justified as “because this is the finale”…If this was any other anime, that would probably tick me off but since it’s Shikanoko, the 4th-wall-breaking humor just feels natural.

This episode is filled with references to stuff like Fist of the North Star to Rocky. Without going into too much detail, at some point, Nokotan literally starts using her antlers as grenades… make of that what you will. It makes no sense but it was hilarious. Shikanoko in a nutshell.

VTuber Legend Episode 12

This episode was surprisingly emotional. This show has mostly been an unhinged comedy with occasional character moments but this episode truly shook me with how emotionally driven it was. The last few episodes had been building up to a character moment for Hareru but I didn’t expect it to be this deep or this good. Hareru’s backstory and character development in this episode are really quite something. I love the way her backstory was presented too.

So yeah, this different tone for the season finale came out of nowhere. And well, it’s not like this episode didn’t have comedy at all. It still had a lot of funny moments. Just that Hareru’s moment stands out the most. This was her episode by far. If this gets a season 2, I look forward to seeing Hareru interact with Awayuki and others more.

Too Many Losing Heroines Episode 11

Now that the third-years are out of the picture, Komari is the president of the Literature Club but well, she is having trouble keeping up with all the presidential duties. Poor girl just can’t speak in front of strangers and as such was really worried about the upcoming Student Council meeting. We get to learn why she values the club so much and thinks that she has to defend it alone. It takes her a bit of time to realize that she isn’t alone anymore even if her beloved seniors graduated, she has new friends to help her now in Nukumizu, Yanami, and Lemon.

I love how Nukumizu handled her too. Yes, he made mistakes at times but he learned from them and once he knew why Komari was so fiercely protective of the club, he understood what he had to do. He is such a good protagonist. I also like how mature Kaju is. Her advice really helped Nukumizu in this episode. Another great episode from this series.

Alya Episode 12

Okay, so this episode was a little weird. It was a great episode, don’t get me wrong. But this didn’t feel like a season finale at all. It felt like a regular weekly episode. Probably because it was made with Season 2 in mind, Season 2 is already confirmed after all. But as I said, this was still a great episode. Aside from having a nice character moment for Alya, this episode once again showcased just how charismatic Masachika can be.

Yuki was consistently scheming and she would’ve almost certainly won but well, Masachika was two steps ahead. And I love how this episode itself showcases that he isn’t perfect but dealing with people is his biggest strength. Alya, also got some great character moments throughout the episode as she grew more confident in herself thanks to Masachika. And we finally know what kind of President she wants to be, Their dynamic has evolved so much over time. Again, it will be fun to see how season 2 takes their dynamic further.

Wistoria Episode 11

Well, not much to say here. It was just a straight-up action-packed episode. It was filled with action from start to finish and every single moment of this episode looked amazing. This episode showcased Will’s resourcefulness and his understanding of magic so well. Even though he can’t use magic himself, he understands how spells work on a basic level and he is really knowledgeable about the monster they’re fighting.

I love how everyone contributes to the fight. Even though it is Will who finishes it, it wouldn’t be possible without everyone’s contribution. Great episode, with loads of action, and all of it looked immaculate because of the awesome animations and art style.

Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 11

Man, Aqua just can’t catch a break. I love how “free” he is because he thinks that he no longer has to live for revenge. His attitude has completely changed, he is a lot more honest with his feelings and actually wants to enjoy life now. All of this is because he thinks that his revenge target, his father is dead. So while most of Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 11 was light-hearted, the ending was truly something else.

As always, Akane picks up on things extremely quickly. She realizes what Aqua has been going through and once he explains everything to her, she is even willing to accept the “breakup” but well, she soon realizes the one “loophole” Aqua missed in this whole situation. Yes, his father is still alive and we get to see him at the end of the episode. He is voiced by Mamoru Miyano too (the voice actor of Light Yagami). We will see if Akane decides to tell Aqua about the “loophole” she picked up or not. I feel like this is where the true revenge story starts.

That is all for now!

So yeah, those were my favorite episodes from this week. This has kind of been a long week for me but I hope you had a better week than mine. I hope you have an awesome upcoming week as well. With that said, I will take my leave here. I need sleep. See ya!
