Okay, so I do apologize for putting Oshi no Ko Season 2 up on the title for two consecutive weeks but Episode 9 was just that good. This was probably the best episode of Season 2 so far. And while I know that the mini-arc we will have for the remaining 3 episodes will be quite interesting, I doubt that any episode from Season 2 will surpass this one. Yeah, episode 9 was that kind of good.

But that’s not all, of course. I usually don’t put The Elusive Samurai on this list but man, Episode 9 was so damn good. Too Many Losing Heroines continues to be a consistently awesome show. Shikanoko had a really funny episode and the same goes for Vtuber Legend as well. Wistoria took a break from all the action and ho boy, did we have a twist in this episode. I am sure a lot of fanfics/fanarts are going to stem from this episode lol.

So yeah, this was another great week for anime. 2024 has officially only 4 months left. This was the 9th week of the Summer 2024 Season and here are my favorite episodes from Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 9 to Wistoria Episode 8!

Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan Episode 9

We finally got to the sports festival in the Deer anime. And it was just as crazy as you’d expect. I really do feel bad for Koshitan after this episode. She prepared everything, she did her best to make sure that the sports festival went smoothly. But this being the anime it is, she was bombarded with constant problems before and during the festival lol. It is also kind of hilarious that between all the chaos of the sports festival, Bashame was just off growing rice for whatever reason lol.

By the end of the episode, Koshitan just finally loses it and the scene is really funny. There is even a scene in the episode where Koshitan is so damn tired that even Neko-chan feels bad for her lol. Yeah, no wonder she was so done with Nokotan’s antics by the end of the episode.

Wistoria Episode 8

This episode’s title was “Shall We Date” but you know, things weren’t as normal as you think lol. It was pretty clear that we would get at least one date episode between Collete and Will but, Rosty decided to spice things up… quite literally. He did not let Collete have Will to herself lol and he straight admitted that he loved Will. I did not see that coming and their banter and Collete’s obvious jealousy made this episode so entertaining.

And towards the end of the episode, we had an interesting plot development as well. The student with the highest credits, Lihanna decided to approach Will to join her party for the upcoming dungeon exploration exam. The party includes all the high-ranking students other than Lihanna, Julius, Sion, and the elf guy. Side note, I am really starting to like the elf guy because of how calm and cool he is. But yeah, the party dynamics in the dungeon are gonna be interesting cause Sion and Julius do not like Will lol.

The Elusive Samurai Episode 9

This episode was so beautifully animated. The Elusive Samurai is one of the best-looking animes from this season just because of how unique the art style is and how good the animation is to complement that. And this episode showed both of those off. Tokiyuki smiled as he fought and every single movement of his was made even better by the crisp animation. Imagine slowly dying from blood loss while the kid you are fighting is just running away from you with a smile on his face.

That wasn’t the only fight in this episode. The other two fights were fairly good too and Fubuki will be an incredible addition to the cast. He is so cool (get it? Cause his name, Fubuki means blizzard! I will see myself out…). Awesome episode overall.

Too Many Losing Heroines Episode 8

This episode officially marks the beginning of Komari’s arc. The third years will be pulling away from the clubs soon because of exams and Komari is picked to be the next president of the Literature Club. The upcoming cultural festival will be the last major event the third years will be involved in. And all this means a lot to Komari as the person she likes will be leaving soon so she wants to give him a proper farewell. Of course, Yanami came up with the idea to put food in their literature club exhibition lol.

And that actually was a good idea for change. Nukumizu and Yanami’s dynamic continues to be entertaining but I do enjoy the weird little introvert conversations Nukumizu and Komari have too. It will be fun to see more of those in this arc.

Vtuber Legend Episode 9

Man, this anime is so unhinged. After having two weeks of cute and wholesome episodes, this anime finally decided to go back to its unhinged roots and it is back with a bang. The first half was crazy enough as is, filled with multiple Marvel references and an Ace Attorney reference as well. Sei and Awayuki were on the same wavelength when they were doing their little skit and that whole scene was pure gold. Shion playing the straight man made it even better.

But the 2nd half of the episode was even crazier. We used to know Eirai as a relatively normal person who was just interested in animals. Welp, thanks to Awayuki and a horror game, she went off. She is no zoo director, she’s a damn don and it was hilarious to see her character break. And before all that happened, Awayuki slapped us in the face with an MHA reference even going as far as to use All Might’s catchphrase, “Watashi ga Kita!” Crazy episode and I loved every minute of it.

Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 9

As I said, Episode 9 is the best episode of Oshi no Ko Season 2 so far. Aqua’s channeling his demons to deliver a crazy performance was so damn well done. It was only a few minutes but he rules the screen during that time. I am not going to forget that scene anytime soon. And considering the emotions he was channeling to make the scene work, his tears afterward held even more right. Even Akane was a little surprised as he held her character. The whole stage play arc was great and this was an awesome conclusion to it.

But that’s not all. We had a mind-boggling twist at the end. Aqua had been doing some investigation and turns out… I will not spoil it. Watch the episode yourself, they pulled off one of the most unexpected plot twists ever.

That’s all for now!

Those were my favorite episodes from this week. I hope you had a good and I hope you have another good one ahead of you as well. Now I will take my leave here, I need sleep. See ya!
