Paripi Koumei Review – Best OP of the Season!!

I wasn’t really sure of writing a review for this so quickly but, episode 10 recently came out and now I can see how this season will end. So this is a good time to review Paripi Koumei. For me, this anime and Kakkou no Iinazuke have been the most surprising anime of this season; I knew how good the others will be. But, Koumei surpassed my expectation far and beyond. I do have a thing for good musical anime too, so there’s that.
So well, welcome back to another review, and this once we are talking about the awesome Paripi Koumei. It is a surprisingly good anime and baiting us with that opening theme was definitely a part of Koumei’s plan. With that said though, let’s talk about it.
Plot
Paripi Koumei has a rather interesting plot and I have to say, it’d feel absurd if this wasn’t an anime lol. So it is about the great Chinese strategist, Zhuge Liang who gets reincarnated into order day Shibuya after passing away from an illness. He first thinks it is hell but slowly realizes that he has just been reincarnated. He takes a liking to a girl’s singing and decides to help her spread her singing by becoming her strategist (read manager).
It is a pretty interesting idea I have to say. We have seen reincarnation plots before but, not in this way. I love how the author used a known troupe and presented it in a very different way. The setting aside, the plot itself is also very good. Paripi Koumei is brilliantly paced. It is always fun to see what kind of strategies Komei comes up with for the situation.
Characters
Paripi Koumei has a few important characters but, it definitely treats them with care. I love how Koumei just simply acts as a support to help the younglings grow. Eiko and Kabe get the most character development and purposefully so, the story is about them so only makes sense. Koumei is brilliant as expected man, he has everything taken into account and his prediction are spot on. The show really does nail in how much of a genius Zhuge Liang was.
Animations and Soundtracks
PA works did a fantastic job on Paripi Koumei. Sure the animations and the art style are pretty decent but, the main focus here has to be the OST man. As expected of a music anime, it has some really good pieces of OST. Of course, this includes the brilliant opening theme as well. While the opening theme gets most of the attention, the ending theme is also really good. Not to mention the sounds used in the anime… all in all, great sound direction.
Conclusion
Here are my final ratings for Pairpi Koumei:
- Plot – 8/10
- Characters – 8/10
- Animations – 8/10
- Soundtracks – 10/10
- Enjoyment – 9/10
- BEST OP OF THE SEASONΒ – 10/10
- Overall – 9/10
Well, that is all for now. Of course, remember this is all subjective so feel free to disagree with me if you have to. I really love Paripi Koumei, definitely one of my favorites from this season. With that said though, I will take my leave here. See ya!!
