Re Zero Season 3 Episode 9, Let’s Talk About It!

Man, can’t believe there was a time when I dropped Re Zero. Even now, Season 2 is not my cup of tea. I understand that the Sanctuary arc had to be like that, I appreciate what it tried to do but I will not rewatch it. There are times when the pacing grinds to a halt in Season 2 and we get just long exposition scenes. I really don’t like that. Season 3 though, now this is peak Re Zero, if you ask me and Episode 9 just proved that. Season 3 has such an excellent blend of plot and action and combined with the brisk pacing, it just hits right.

So welcome back to another article. Today we are talking about Re Zero Season 3 Episode 9. This episode marks the beginning of the Counterattack Arc of Season 3 as the anime just came back from the 6-8 week break they took after Episode 8 aired. So let’s get started.

What did I think of Re Zero Season 3 Episode 9?

First off, the animations somehow look even better. The brief fight scenes we got throughout this episode looked great. Season 3 was an improvement in animation quality in general but Episode 9 somehow took that a step further it feels like. Subaru and Reinhard vs. Regulus in particular looked exceptional. I cannot wait for the rest of the fight to play out. Episode 8 left us on such a crazy cliffhanger and we had to wait like two months to see the continuation. Tell you what though, the wait was worth it.

Re Zero Season 3 presents you with an exceptional blend of plot-heavy moments, action, and a touch of comedy, you just can’t help but appreciate it. And the crazy thing is, past arcs had like 1 archbishop, this has 4. Regulus is more or less the main antagonist for now. But the Archbishop of Wrath, Sirius is engaged with Priscilla and Lilliana’s alliance, Otto and Felt’s group are fighting the Archbishop of Gluttony, Lye, and finally, the Archbishop of Lust, Capella is fighting Wilhelm and Garfiel.

This arc has quickly turned into an all-out war against the Witch Cult and again, the action has been so good. We have battles taking place on so many different fronts. We have other side plots like Otto’s mission to retrieve the Tome of Wisdom. In the half, we had a lot of political tension and conflict, now, everyone has united to fight against the Witch Cult and all the different Archbishops. I am really excited to see where this goes.
