Re: Zero Season 3 is about to be Awesome!

Article at a glance:

  • Re: Zero Season 3 will be split into two 8-episode parts, with the first episode being 90 minutes long, airing from October 2024 to February 2025.
  • Focuses on Subaru building a resistance to free Watergate City from the Witch Cult, with intense action and major character development.
  • Watching Season 2 is essential for understanding the upcoming story and appreciating the payoff in Season 3.

We got some interesting updates on Re: Zero Season 3 recently and believe it or not, I really do look forward to Season 3. I know that a lot of people didn’t really like Season 2 because of how slow the Sanctuary arc is in the first half. And I don’t blame them, it took me a while to get through that arc as well. But man, the upcoming arcs Arc 5 and Arc 6 are regarded as some of the best arcs of the LN. And Season 3 will be covering Arc 5, so it will be fun.

I will try to explain why Arc 5 is great without going too deep into spoilers. There will be minor spoilers but I will only outline the plot of the arc, I promise. I’d like to go over some more interesting info about Re: Zero Season 3, so let’s talk about that too. Let’s get started

About Re: Zero Season 3

Season 3 will be split into 2 parts of 8 episodes each. The first 8 episodes will start airing weekly from 2nd October 2024. Then we will have a break and the later 8 episodes will air weekly from 5th February 2025. That’s not all. The first episode will be 90 minutes long so we’re getting roughly 19 episodes to cover Arc 5, which is more than enough. From what I saw online, most people were hoping for 15-ish episodes but the fact that we’re getting 19 is great.

Arc 6 will likely be saved for Season 4 unless they do more cours for Season 3. It would be pretty cool to have Season 3 as this massive season that covers both Arc 5 and Arc 6. Both Arc 5 and Arc 6 span five Light Novel volumes by the way, 16 to 20 for Arc 5 and 21 to 25 for Arc 6. Arc 5 has some of the best action of the series to offer and it is a major stepping stone for Subaru’s character as well.

About Arc 5

In Arc 5, all the royal election camps are invited over to Watergate City to attend a gathering. But the city is invaded and captured by the Archbishops of the Witch Cult. The arc focuses on Subaru’s efforts to build a resistance and free the city. This is why the first cours of Season 3 is called the “Attack Arc” and the later episodes are called the “Counterattack Arc”. Yes, the plot for this arc is quite simple but I don’t think I need to explain any further why this arc is going to be good. But of course, since it is Re: Zero there is a lot more to this arc than just the action.

Again, I understand that is hard to slog through Season 2 because of how slow it can be. But trust me, Arc 5 and Arc 6 are worth it. There is a reason why these two arcs are held in such high regard. And yes, you should watch Season 2. I mean what else do you expect? It’s best to refresh your memory on Season 2 before starting Season 3. You will understand why when Season 3 drops. Trust me on this one.

That is all for now!

I hope I made it clear why I am looking forward to Arc 5. Again, there is a lot more to it than just the action. Arc 6 is a different beast altogether. But we will talk about it when the time comes. But yeah, Re: Zero Season 3 should be fun. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!
