Rent A Girlfriend Season 5… WHY ARE WE STILL HERE? JUST TO SUFFER???

Article at a glance:

  • Rent a Girlfriend somehow fumbled its way to Season 5, and I am convinced humanity has failed as a collective.
  • Meanwhile, actual classics like Hyouka, Danshi Kokousei no Nichijou, and Beelzebub sit abandoned in sequel jail.
  • This isn’t news coverage, this is a roast session, and you’re all coming with me.

You saw how happy I was in the previous article, right? You saw how much joy the Chainsaw Man movie filled me with, right? Well, suffice to say, all that just died. Rent a Girlfriend Season 5 has been announced, and I couldn’t be more ashamed of the community. It is YOUR fault for still reading this absolute dogshit of a series. STOP WATCHING THIS VOMIT RIGHT NOW, OR I WILL SMASH YOUR MONITOR INTO PIECES (sarcasm, of course). I.. I don’t even have the words to describe how frustrated I am right now.

This is NOT news coverage, hell no. I refuse to cover Rent a Girlfriend, let alone talk about Season 5. I think this series should burn in hell, be forgotten about, and never be looked back on. Today, we are going to go over 3 anime that deserve a sequel MORE than Rent a Girlfried, but NEVER got one, meanwhile, this absolute stinker of an anime has 5 seasons. I just loaded up Kendrick Lamar in my playlist, let’s get started.

Sequel More Deserved than Rent a Girlfriend Season 5

No obvious ones like No Game No Life, everyone knows that one.

  • Hyouka: Oh yeah, let’s start off with a classic. Yes, the novels continue well beyond what the anime adopted. I don’t need to tell you how much more people love Hyouka compared to something like Rent a Girlfriend, and it has a pretty active community to this day. Case in point, the Shoushimin series by the same author already got a sequel anime greenlit. But not Hyouka.
  • Danshi Kokousei no Nichijou: Again, despite being rather short, the manga easily has enough content for a Season 2, and again, despite being a cult classic and peak comedy, we are stuck with only 1 season. At least Grand Blue is continuing to get sequels because, damn it, we could use more good comedy shows.
  • Beelzebub: Another great example of a show that people love, has more than enough content in the source material, and that never got an anime sequel. Another cult classic that you just know is awesome if you’ve watched it.

Those are just a few examples off the top of my head, without going into the very obvious ones that basically every article lists. I don’t even need to tell why these shows deserve a sequel more than Rent a Girlfriend does any day of the year.

My Thoughts

Let me be as clear as possible: Rent a Girlfriend is the Nickelback of anime. Nobody admits to liking it, yet somehow it keeps selling out arenas and pulling numbers big enough to warrant FIVE SEASONS. You people binge this dumpster fire and then turn around, hands on hips, wondering why peak series like Hyouka or Beelzebub are rotting in the “maybe someday” pile. Spoiler alert: it’s because the anime industry looks at the metrics, sees you frothing over Mizuhara’s 900th rerun of “Will they, won’t they?” and decides, “Yeah, let’s milk that instead.”

This isn’t romance. This is psychological torture marketed as romance. I would rather rewatch School Days on repeat until my brain leaks out my ears than sit through another whiny monologue from Kazuya. At least School Days had the decency to end in chaos. Rent a Girlfriend just drags its corpse across the finish line season after season while the author sprints back to the bank, laughing.

That is all for now

This just feels like a psyop at this point, and I am slowly going insane. Screw Rent a Girlfriend, binge Season 5. I don’t care anymore. You’re not going to listen to some random dude on the internet. But sometimes you gotta recognize poop is poop and stop pretending it’s chocolate. But yeah, I will take my leave here. See ya.
