SAO Alternative GGO Season 2 is Exactly What I Hoped for!

Article at a glance:
- Season 2 sticks to the winning formula of intense bullet-hell action, crazy tactics, and thrilling Squad Jam matches, keeping the vibe of Season 1 alive.
- Pito and LLENN are on the same team this time, joined by Fuka and M, and the group’s chaotic, fun banter adds to the thrill.
- While animations are improved, Season 2’s art style feels a bit duller compared to Season 1’s vibrant look.

So far, SAO Alternative GGO Season 2 has been exactly what I wanted, and that is more of Season 1. Yep, if it is not broken, don’t fix it. It has the same intensity as season 1, the same crazy bullet-hell action, and the same crazy tactics. And I love every moment of it. Things will likely change soon but so far, Season 2 has been more of Season 1 and I don’t mind that at all because of just how good Season 1 was. Yes, there are some shakeups to increase the intensity further but it is largely still the same as Season 1.
So welcome back to another one of my first impressions article. And today we are talking about SAO Alternative GGO Season 2. Of course, keep in mind that this is just a “first impressions” article and only based on the first 4 episodes of the anime. My views will likely change in the future. With that said, let’s start.

What do I think of SAO Alternative GGO Season 2 so far?
The plot picks up pretty much right after Season 1. Squad Jam 3 is here and this time, Pito and LLENN are on the same team! Other than them, their team of course has Fuka and M. Quite the formidable team. Aside from Pito gaslighting LLENN into participating, the main target this time is to settle the score with SHINC. How the turn tables, right? In the previous Squad Jam, SHINC helped LLENN take on Pito. Also, the rules of this SJ are different and they add so much more tension to the action, I love it.
It is nice to see how close Pito and LLENN have grown after the end of Season 1. I wonder if we will get more real-life interactions between LLENN (Kohi) and Pito (Elsa). We haven’t had much in terms of character moments in the season so far but who cares when the banter and the team dynamic between Pito, LLENN, Fuka, and M is so much damn fun. It is always a blast to see these four interact and even Fuka who hasn’t been playing for as long as LLENN blends into the chaos of the group perfectly.

The only complaint I have is that the art isn’t as good as Season 1. Yes, the animations are better but I liked Season 1’s art style a lot more, This may sound weird but the colors in Season 2 look a lot duller. Maybe it’s just me but I definitely prefer the art style of Season 1. That is not to say Season 2 looks bad, by the way, far from it. Season 2 looks great and the improved animations help. Just that I like the art style of Season 1 more.
That is all for now
That’s about it really. SAO Alternative GGO is fun with lots of action and some great characters, Season 2 so far has been just more of that and I am perfectly happy with that. But yeah, with that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!
