Man, I will miss this season. Spring 2024 was better than it had any right to be. And it is one of the rare instances when I am more sad about the current season ending than excited about the upcoming season. And it’s not like Summer 2024 doesn’t have anime I look forward to. It is just that I have become more emotionally attached to Spring 2024 than I expected and it really does pain me to see this season go. But all things must come to an end so here we are, talking one last time about how good of a season this was.
By the way, I am happy that almost all anime from this season got a sequel announcement immediately after they finished airing. That really put a smile on my face. But what a week it was, filled to the brim with bangers and cool season finales. Even the animes not mentioned on this list had some amazing episodes and I also do have a surprise entry for this week’s list.
So welcome to another Best Episodes of the Week article! So let’s take a look at the last week of Spring 2024, here are my favorite episodes from this week!
Roze of the Recapture Episode 2

I will not spoil it but the plot twist at the end changes a lot of things. I assumed that Ash was aware of Roze’s true identity and was helping him get Sakura out of prison. But it turns out that might not be true because we don’t ever see Sakuya talk to Ash without the disguise. Good episode overall, we get to learn a whole bunch about the Einbern family and what kind of state the rebellion is at this point. They’re unable to rescue Sakura in this episode but it would be odd if they got her back so soon.
Also, the animations and the Knightmare fights looked as good as always. They’ve gotten quite creative with the Knightmare designs and I appreciate it a lot.
Voice Actor Radio Episode 12

So I have my issues with this anime as a whole. There are aspects of it I didn’t like but at the same time, I did enjoy it, And I have to admit, his episode was really good. Yasumi gives up and finally asks Yuhi for advice. And man, Yuhi’s advice works. I like how you can feel a difference in Yasumi’s performance in this episode compared to the previous episodes. Yasumi’s issue is something I understand quite dearly because I do that to myself quite often as well.
And the ending of the episode was just the cherry on top. It was a hilarious but fitting ending to the show. I hope this does get more seasons because I am curious to see now where they can take it from here.
Kaiju No. 8 Episode 12

The fight between Kafka and Shinomiya was so well done. They did not shy away from showing off the awesome animation quality in this episode. And I am here for it. Also, another fact I really liked, Kafka’s Kaiju form grew more and more demonic the longer the fight went on. This episode felt a little rushed to me though, simply because I feel like there was a more natural stopping point just a little further ahead. Still even taking that one negative into account, there is so much this episode does right.
I love how happy everyone is to know that Kafka will not be executed. Of course, Shonimya took a risk in sparing Kafka given the conditions but we all knew things would turn out alright. Even putting the awesome fight aside, this was a great episode.
Hashira Training Arc Episode 8

It still amazes me how UFOTable was able to take a meh arc from the manga and turn it into something this cool.. This episode gave us a whole bunch of teasers for the upcoming final arc and it also gave us a little insight into Muzan’s backstory. The full backstory will be revealed in the upcoming arc, of course. But we did learn some interesting things in this episode. We also now know why Ubuyashiki was so hell-bent on getting rid of Muzan. We see Tamayo again and she had a surprise for Muzan.
That is not all though. All that would’ve been enough but no, UFOTable decided to give us an incredible visual of all the Hashira’s jumping at Muzan only to pull the smoothest transition ever. Very excited about the final arc now!
Mushoku Tensei II Episode 12

This episode did a fantastic job of showcasing just how much mental turmoil Rudy was in between Paul’s death and the whole situation with Roxy. It was very clear just how much Norn loved her father and hearing the news of his passing just broke the poor kid. And then when Rudy brings up the whole Roxy situation in front of her, she is understandably very upset. It was an intense episode man, seeing both the children cry at the news of their father’s passing was not a good sight.
But hey, Rudy is also a father now. I like how the first thing he did after becoming a father was visit Paul’s grave. Even after all this, Rudy sees himself as a kid. It was a genuinely heartwarming scene.
Sound Euphonium Season 3 Episode 13

After this episode, there is no competition. Sound Euphonium Season 3 is now my favorite anime from Spring 2024 and it already has a solid case for my anime of the year. This episode paid off on so many different setups, it built up on so many instances from previous seasons. Everything from Kumiko passing down Asuka’s song to Kanade, to Kitauji finally winning the national gold to Kumiko’s career choice. This episode was perfect, I wrote a really long review for season 3 earlier today so I won’t ramble too much here.
But man, this episode concluded Kumiko’s journey perfectly. The ending was incredibly fitting and I am so sad to see this anime go away. I am going to rewatch it soon.
That is all for now!
Spring 2024 was an incredible season. From KonoSuba’s goofiness to Sound Euphonium and Mushoku Tensei’s heavy episodes, from Wind Breaker and Kaiju No 8’s action to the sweetness of Whisper Me a Love Song. Spring was awesome and I am going to miss it a lot. Let me know what you guys think in the comments, I will take my leave here. See ya!
