That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Episode 1 was…

Key points for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Episode 1 review:

  • The episode diverged from expectations, emphasizing post-battle camaraderie over anticipated storylines involving Luminous and Hinata. This shift offered insight into character dynamics but left fans awaiting future developments.
  • Diablo’s manipulation of the Falmuth Kingdom situation showcased his cunning and contributed significantly to world-building. His tactics, including a fabricated peace treaty, add depth to his character and the evolving political landscape.
  • Despite enjoyable moments and solid storytelling, the episode’s opening theme disappointingly spoils upcoming scenes, detracting from the element of surprise and potentially diminishing viewer anticipation.

Quite the shift in tone from the last article, eh? I am not quite sure when I will upload these on the website but I will have you know that half a day has passed since wrote the last article. So mentally, I am in a much better position. And oh hey, I just remembered it is Wrestlemania time soon. So yeah, the next few days will be absolutely packed for me as an anime and wrestling fan. And well, starting things off today we have That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Episode 1.

This episode was quite different from what I was expecting. Don’t get me wrong, it was still a fun episode but I was expecting something different. Of course, spoilers for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Episode 1 will follow. Only read this article after you have watched the episode itself. So let’s just get started right away.

What do I think of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Episode 1?

The episode opens with the aftermath of the fight with Clayman. We learn that Leon and Luminous left as soon as the meeting concluded. Of course, Rimuru is now a formal member of the Octagram so he stayed to have dinner with the remaining Demon Lords. This part was pretty much expected. It was fun to see the characters interact informally now that all the official business was done. Nothing much of importance happened but it was still a good scene.

Then as Rimuru returns to Tempest, Diablo reports his progress with the whole Falmuth Kingdom situation. Diablo used Youm’s group and the surviving king to gaslight the other nobility members into thinking that there was no war and that Rimuru was the one who saved them from a rampaging Veldora. Diablo hands the king a lengthy peace treaty, which is rather harsh on the Falmuth Kingdom, gives the nobility a week to think about it, and leaves. That is where his report concludes. This was also interesting as this whole flashback contributed a lot to the world-building and Diablo’s character.

No, what caught me by surprise was the fact that we didn’t get to see anything about Luminous or Hinata in this episode. We know that this season is going to heavily focus on that. I also hate the fact that the opening animation kind of spoils some of the upcoming scenes. The opening theme is good but in my opinion, it doesn’t even try to hide the spoilers in it. So yeah, because of that I thought we would get at least a single small scene with Luminous or Hinata in this episode.

That is all for now!

But yeah. that is all I have for today. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Episode 1 was a decent episode. Nothing mindblowing but it was a good episode nonetheless. I’d give it a 7/10. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!
