I think it is fair to say that The Eminence in Shadow was one of the biggest surprises of this year. I don’t think anyone expected it to be as good as it turned out to be. The way the series doesn’t take itself too seriously and how it is a parody of so many isekai tropes really clicked with people. Now, The Eminence in Shadow 2 is coming soon~

The Eminence in Shadow 2 was announced right after the first season ended. And honestly, I don’t think anyone expected it to be released this soon. How soon? Well, that’s what we’re here to talk about today.

So welcome back to another new article! Today we will discuss The Eminence in Shadow 2 or Season 2. So let’s get started.

What do we know about The Eminence in Shadow 2?

The official website of the anime revealed a bunch of new info for season 2 on Sunday (28th May). We got a few new cast members, and a new PV and of course, we learned that the anime will come out in the Fall season of 2023! That is much sooner than any of us expected. I thought we’d see it in winter 2024 at least. But here we are.

As for the new cast members, they are Shizuka Itou, Ai Kakuma, Tomokazy Sugita, and Tsuyoshi Koyama. That is a stacked new addition to the cast, some of my all-time favorites are in that lineup. You can check out the new PV here. We don’t have the exact release date yet, of course, we only know that it will come out sometime in October 2023.

My Thoughts

I was already excited about The Eminence in Shadow 2 but, seeing those new additions to the cast really made my day.

• Tomokazu Sugita needs no introduction, he is most well known for voicing out beloved and infinitely memeable Gin-san.
• Ai Kakuma has voiced Kiichi Hogen from FGO, Rosaria from Genshin Impact, and most recently, Runa from Yamada-kun.
• Shizuka Itou is probably most well known for her role as Aken from High School DxD and Kafka most recently from Honkai: Star Rail.

Sorry for nerding out right there, you see, VAs are a huge part of why I watch animes. So getting to see some of my all-time favorites in anime I really like is a big deal for me. I was already excited about this anime, but now the hype is through the roof for me personally.

The old staff is returning to work on the anime again, which is good. Because it really felt like they had fun making this anime. The best thing, we only have to wait a few more months to see The Eminence in Shadow 2 in all its glory.
