The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses Review

Key takeaways from The Girl I Like Forgot her Glasses review:
- The anime’s plot becomes repetitive in the middle episodes, which hampers its overall engagement.
- The main characters are well-written and have engaging interactions, but the lack of well-developed side characters is a notable issue.
- The anime receives praise for its art style, animations, and soundtracks, enhancing the overall viewing experience.
So not gonna lie, I kind of enjoyed this anime. Yes, I do have my issues with it, some of them are pretty major. But as a simple rom-com fan, I enjoyed this anime more than I should have. The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses was a very up-and-down ride but it had its moments for sure.
It is weird talking about things like these because as a critic I cannot ignore the flaws of the show but at the same time, I did kind of enjoy it as a fan. There are some dull moments in this anime for sure but I still liked the highs.
So welcome back to another one of my reviews and let’s talk about all that in detail. Yes, today we are talking about The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses. So let’s get started.
Plot
While the premise of the series sounds funny on the surface, it gets stale after the first few episodes. Because everything after that kind of feels like a repeat of things that have already happened before. It is only in the later episode that the series starts to mix things up again and manages to retain interest. So as a result, the middle section of the plot really suffers in my opinion.
Other than the repetitive feeling of the few episodes in the middle, the plot is a fairly standard rom-com plot. Albeit with the titular twist added into the mix. The show is fairly episodic and lacks a certain feeling of continuity that I’d expect from an anime like this. Other than that, it is just OK. Nothing too good, nothing too bad.
Characters
The main duo of the series are pretty well-written. Even though some of their situations feel repetitive, they manage to keep it fresh because of the well-written interactions between them. As much praise as I have for the writing of the main duo, there is a major issue in this section though. The side characters are pretty much non-existent. If the series had better more well-written side characters, the series wouldn’t feel as stale as it did. The side characters can really freshen up the dynamics and complement the main duo well.
Animations and Soundtracks
Nothing but praise in this section though. The Gitl I Like Forgot Her Glasses has a really good art style and the animations are pretty impressive too. They used CG pretty well and for the most part, the CG is hard to notice. The soundtracks are pretty good once again, the opening and ending themes are nice and we have some nice BGM as well.
Conclusion
Here are my final scores for The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses:
- Plot – 6/10
- Characters – 6/10
- Animations – 8/10
- Soundtracks – 7/10
- Enjoyment – 7/10
- Please add good side characters – 10/10
- Overall – 6/10
So not a bad anime by any means, just that it has its flaws. I found it enjoyable despite all that, maybe you will too. Anyhow, with that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!!
