Just when I was starting to think that we don’t have enough new anime announcements for next year yet, I see this. This is one of the few non-anime-related light novels that I have been reading for a while. Now, it is finally getting its own anime adaptation. Thatβs right, we are talking about The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs.
The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs or Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai Desu is a harem comedy light novel. It is one of my favorite light novels and I am excited to see it finally getting an anime. Kadokawa was kind enough to give a lot of information about the anime, so here is all we know.

Kadokawa opened an official website for The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs anime just a few hours ago at the time of writing. They announced a lot of stuff about the anime as well as gave us a teaser visual and a PV. They announced the main staff and cast of the anime as well. Most notably, the director is Kazuya Miura; he has worked on Uzaki-chan (as director), Evangelion (as an animator), D-gray man (storyboard), and multiple other titles.
The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs will be animated by ENGI, the studio that made Uzaki-chan and The Detective is Already Dead. The anime is set to air in the spring season of next year. You can check out the PV here.

The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs follows Leon an office worker who got reincarnated as a mob character in a video game. In this game, women reign supreme, and only good-looking men are respected. Leon remembers a full playthrough of the game and actively avoids the main characters so that he could live a peaceful life in the countryside. But, things happen and he decides to start a revolution against society.
I know it sounds a bit beta or clichΓ©. But trust me here, the story is actually pretty good and the pacing is great. I personally like The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs because of Leon himself and I mean even in the PV, his sinister smile is done really well and he is voiced just as I expected him to speak and seriously looking forward to this anime. I am a bit concerned about the animations but, the PV looked fine so if the anime is like too, Iβll be happy.
The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs LN is a bit divisive but, I like it and I suggest that you at least give the anime a chance. You may just end up liking it as I did.
