  • Todo Aoi shines as the MVP in Jujutsu Kaisen, playing a crucial role in defeating Mahito and showcasing true bro camaraderie.
  • Shield Hero Season 3 Episode 11 features a satisfying and emotional battle between Rishia and Itsuki, highlighting Rishia’s growth and determination.

  • Frieren Episode 15 offers two compelling parts, featuring significant world-building and highlighting adorable moments between Fern and Stark in the second part.

What a week has it been. As we head towards the end of the year and the season climax approaches, we’ve been getting banger episodes one after another. And this week was a perfect example of that. A lot of the currently airing anime will air their final episodes for the season next week. As sad as that is, I am glad to be here to witness the conclusion of a glorious season like this. And yes, I HAD to name this week’s article after Todo Aoi. He is one of the MVPs of this week.

Another MVP for this week would be Sein from Frieren. Golbin Slayer had an iconic episode, Shield Hero had a pretty good fight, and The Eminence in Shadow gave us a perfect build-up for the season’s climax! It was an amazing week and I am sure next week will only get crazier.

So taking a little break from all the Jump Festa buzz, we are here to talk about the best episodes of the week. So welcome back, it is the 12th week of the Fall 2023 Season, and here are my favorite episodes of the week!

Shield Hero Season 3 Episode 11

Man, I wish Itsuki suffered more. I know he has been through a lot mentally, but I feel like he got off cheap for what he did. Motoyasu was always a harmless fool, but Ren and Itsuki deserve a lot worse than what they are getting. Either way though, at least the scene where B!tch left Itsuki and he had a mental breakdown because of it was satisfying.

So why is this episode on the list then? Because of the fight between Rishia and Itsuki. Yes, Rishia getting some power from the Bow felt a little too convenient but the emotion involved and the fight itself were pretty compelling. Rishia was showing off the results of her training and she almost completely destroyed any offense Itsuki had for her. Once she got that power-up, the fight was as good as over. It was a satisfying fight, I wouldn’t have minded at all if she ended Itsuki right there lol.

Goblin Slayer Season 2 Episode 11

It is raining Goblins!! If you didn’t get the joke, go watch the episode, you will know what I mean. Yes, Goblin Slayer is back, ending Goblins in the most weird and creative ways possible. We got to see what the insides of the Great Labyrinth look like. We got to learn that Goblins aren’t as stupid as they look and they had a reason to kidnap the princess. This episode once again does a great job of showcasing how much Priestess has grown as a character.

The dynamic between the Party members has improved so much in Season 2. All that character focus is really paying off. This episode had everything world-building, character moments, some great action, and of course, as I said, Goblin Slayer coming up with creative ways to deal with Goblins.

The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 Episode 11

This was an amazing episode. After being relatively tame for the past few weeks, I feel like this week the anime went completely unhinged. This arc had been doing a great job of expanding Rose as a character and all of that culminated in this week’s episode. She stepped up and I love the fact that she straight up beheaded Perv on the spot for what he did to her family. We also got to learn more about the Knights of the Round.

Again, this episode was a perfect representation of the series, just as I said for Goblin Slayer before this. This episode had everything, the show’s typical style of comedy/parody, character development, and the setup for a cool upcoming fight. As I said in the intro, this was a perfect setup for the upcoming Season finale. I cannot wait to see Shadow vs. Ragnarok in the next episode. I hope that it will be as good as Shadow vs. The Blood Queen.

Frieren Episode 15

There are two parts to this episode. I liked the first part more but part two was good too for its reasons. In part 1 we get a surprising amount of world-building. I like the different take on the definition of “curses” in this world. The show even went out of its way to tell us why priests are resistant to curses. Which is way more what any typical fantasy series would do. Sein was the MVP for this part of the episode. I love how he hesitated for a second before using the awakening spell on Frieren only to remember what Heiter said and end up putting blind faith in her.

Also, this episode was a huge W for the Fern and Stark ship LOL. Moving into the 2nd part, Stark is forced by a nobleman to act as his son for a night and the party is forced to agree as they are running out of money. Stuff happens and Fern is forced to accompany Stark. And aside from the dance they had, I love the cute moment they had where Fern apologizes to Stark for making fun of him. They look adorable together!

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 21

These past few episodes, Todo Aoi has been the MVP of Jujutsu Kaisen. He pulled Itadori out of depression and helped him fight Mahito and now Todo Aoi is also the reason for Mahito’s defeat in this episode despite the transformation Mahito got. As the title of the article says, Todo Aoi is a true bro… or should that be “brother”? Last week, we got to see him go ham.

This week, after being messed up by Mahito, he gave it his everything to make sure that Itadori gets in that one final hit needed to defeat Mahito. He lost his arm but even then, he did his best to help Itadori defeat Mahito. Also, that final moment between Itadori and Mahito was so freaking good. Itadori looked like a menace.

That is all for now!

Let me know what you guys think in the comments. Those were my favorite episodes of this week. Next week should be even more fun. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!
