Tower Of God Season 2 Announced!

So they’re still making this huh? I never thought I’d hear from the Tower of God anime project ever again after the reception of the first season. I am one of the few that enjoyed the first season but, I’ll be honest it wasn’t as good as the first part of the manhwa. A few people hated the show’s guts, but I don’t think it was thatΒ bad.
Well anyway, I am a bit happy that we are getting a second season of Tower of God. This series deserves it because ToG takes its time in reaching the heights it is praised for. That is one of the reasons season 1 was not well-liked. We’ll get to that later though, let’s start with a short introduction, and then we’ll jump into the news.
Introduction
Tower of God, or Kami no Tou anime is based on the manhwa of the same name, Sin-hui Tap. The manhwa is written by SIU and it is published in Line Webtoon. It started serialization on 5th July 2010 and is still ongoing. The anime adaptation was made by Telecom Animation Film and it aired in spring 2020. It was 13 episodes long and I personally loved the opening and ending themes of the anime, I still listen to them from time to time.
What do we know about Tower of God Season 2?
There was this big Crunchyroll event on Saturday (6th August), the Crunchyroll Expo. The second season of Tower of God was announced at this expo along with a PV and a key visual. This was really a surprise announcement, I don’t think anyone was prepared for this. Well anyhow, you can check out the PV here. And that is literally all the info we got for now so let’s move on to my rambling section.
Expectations
Crunchyroll, please don’t blow up this season. You have a good chance of making a lot of money with this season please do not blow it up. This arc actually starts showing off why Tower of God is considered so good. No this won’t reach the peak of the series but, it will sure as hell serve as a great demo for what’s to come. The reason the first season got a lot of hate was (IMO at least) that the manhwa fans really hyped it up but the first part is not that good so people didn’t like it. We also had the Crunchyroll stuff to add to all this.
Tower of God has kind of a slow start and, a lot of people judge it because of that. But, I do think people will enjoy this upcoming arc. Like this time around, it should be a genuinely hype-worthy arc. Granted that it gets a decent enough adaptation. Once again, Crunchyroll please don’t blow this up. The series has some good potential, make use of it.
Conclusion
That will be all for now. I am fairly excited for Tower of God season 2, it should be a fun ride regardless of how the season turns out to be if you catch my drift. Let me know what you guys think in the comments below. I will take my leave here, I feel really tired. See ya!
