So Baan or Viole, as he is going by now not only took some fashion advice from Itachi, he can now use Za Warudo too? That’s wild. Tower of God continues to impress me like Season 1 was good and all but Season 2 Episode 3 has to be one of my favorite series episodes. And Episode 4 is likely going to be even more hype. I know I just watched episode 3 but now I can’t wait to watch Episode 4 man, especially given how this one ended.

That’s not all, of course. Wistonia continues to get better with each episode. Episode 3 managed to sneak in a crazy revelation. Roze of the Recapture somehow manages to surprise me every week. Oshi no Ko Season 2 had another banger of an episode. And Shikanoko, well, Shikanoko is Shikanoko, I can’t really explain it. There were more cool episodes this week but to keep the article consistent I usually only stick to 5 or 6 episodes. I already talked about those anime in separate dedicated articles recently though.

So this is the 3rd week of the Summer 2024 season. Welcome back to another Best Episodes of the Week series and let’s talk about everything from Tower of God Season 2 Episode 3 to Shikanoko Episode 3! Let’s get started.

Roze of the Recapture Episode 5

Code Geass’s art style man, impeccable as always

Seeing Damocles in action again was such a nostalgia trip. That ship was such a massive threat in the original anime and it still was presented as such here. The new FLEJA-stopping devices being more convenient than the old ones also serves as a good reminder of why Lelouch stopping the FLEJA in the original anime was such a big deal. Other than that, the episode was full of some solid action. We got to see Kuroto in command for the first time and it is clear why he is so valued by Sakuya and the others.

But then the ending of the episode was just brilliant. The rebels do everything in their power. And just when they think they stopped Damocles from bombing a Ghetto, Norland orders the Damocles to be shot down. And of course, it starts falling on top of the Ghetto. It will be very interesting to see how they deal with this in the next episode.

Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan Episode 3

This episode had two of the most iconic moments from the PVs. One obviously being Koshi-tan’s dance which we have seen looped versions of countless times on YouTube and in memes. The other is the Koshi-tan supposedly pegging a deer meme lol. No, having the context for it doesn’t make it any better… somehow. This episode also introduced our final main character, Bashame. And uh, yeah she fits right in. She’s the perfect amount of weird for the Deer Club. How is Koshi going to maintain her sanity will be fun to see now that Anko has also joined the club.

Aside from that, it was a Shikanoko episode. You know what to expect by now, More chaos, more brainrot, more fun.

Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings Episode 3

I’ll keep this one short. But this was a really good episode. We got a nice backstory about how Kuze and Alya became so close, It was a really sweet backstory and I loved it. But, the rest of the episode was completely dominated by Masha. I don’t know who her voice actor is but she has so much charisma. And I think we now know who the Russian girl from Kuze’s childhood was. I think, at least. The episode also gave us a quick explanation for why Kuze and Yuki have different last names despite being blood-related siblings.

Awesome episode overall. I can see why so many people were excited for Masha’s debut now.

Wistonia Episode 3

She’s one of the reasons I say the character designs in this anime are amazing.

Ok, this anime keeps proving me wrong every week now. I thought the first episode was quite generic and it is almost as if the anime heard me because episodes 2 and 3 were amazing. Episode 3 even has a crazy revelation at the end that I won’t spoil. But in this episode, we got to see just how amazing Elfie is. She is the first person to have created 11 or 12 new types of magic on her own. Just a further reminder of what kind of person Will is chasing after despite not being able to use magic.

Other than that, amazing animations, and solid action, as we’ve come to expect and I’d also like to shout out to the character designs. You’ll understand why I say that.

Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 3

These animations are way too good

Ok, before I move on to the episode itself, seeing Akane gush about stage plays and being so expressive in general in this episode, melted my heart away. That’s enough simping, let’s move on to the episode itself. This episode did an amazing job of conveying why plays can still hold up to movies with a touch of technology. One thing I love about Aqua is that he admits his mistakes. Even he was blown away by how good the play Akane showed him was.

Another good thing this episode highlighted was that changes to the source material are sometimes important to adapt something into another form of media. Aqua instantly understood that the script Abiko would write wouldn’t fit a play well. And smart as always, he gifts a ticket to the play he watched with Akane to Abiko. It will be fun to see how her mind changed after her conversation at the end of this episode and after watching the play.

Tower of God Season 2 Episode 3

Effin COLD

As I said, Season 2 Episode 3 might just be one of my favorite Tower of God episodes so far. And to think that Episode 4 will most likely be even better just blows my mind. There is something about the way Baan or Viole is portrayed in this episode that just exudes aura. I don’t know what he did but he used an ability similar to a time stop multiple times during this episode. And he was even able to stop the exam in charge even if it was only for a few seconds. The upcoming fight between them is going to be so crazy lol.

The premise of the special exam itself in this episode was interesting. The rules led to the formation of two main groups and there is a bunch of interesting stuff going on between the other participants as well. But of course, the main draw of the next episode is going to be Viole’s fight. You just know something crazy is coming given the ending of the episode.

That is all for now!

So yeah, those were my favorite episodes from this week. Let me know yours in the comments. This week was a blast. It wasn’t as crazy as the previous week but I still had a lot of fun, I didn’t even realize when the week was over lol. But I hope you all had a good week too. If not, I hope your upcoming week is amazing! Hang in there guys, you got this. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!
