Undead Unluck Manga Ending was Pretty Good

Article at a glance:

  • The final arc was too short, leaving some plot points underdeveloped, but the conclusion felt natural.
  • The Negators are freed, the Union is disbanded, and Andy & Fuuko’s wedding provides a heartfelt closure.
  • After multiple disappointing manga endings, Undead Unluck delivers a decent and enjoyable conclusion.

Man, I feel like we should just give up on a perfect manga ending. I don’t even remember the last time when a manga concluded with a universally loved ending/final arc. Still, after the repeated bad endings of major manga like Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Oshi no Ko, having a decent ending like Undead Unluck feels good. Komi-san also ended this week and I will do an article on that shortly after this one, as well. Sure, the final arc of Undead Unluck was rushed, I won’t argue against that. But at least the ending made sense and felt like a natural conclusion.

So welcome back. Today we are talking about another manga ending and it is Undead Unluck this time around. If you couldn’t already tell, this article will be a bit more positive than my other manga ending articles. Hey, don’t blame me, we have had nothing but terrible endings for a while now. So let’s talk about Undead Unluck!

What did I think of the Undead Unluck Manga Ending?

Well, let’s go over the problems first. While the final arc was overall fun, it was a little too short. The last stretch of Undead Unluck accelerates too quickly for its own good and things don’t get a chance to breathe, at all. This results in certain important plot points being glossed over and yep, certain plot points being ignored altogether. As a result, the series ends with quite a few questions still unanswered as is common with most manga endings these days for some reason.

So why do I still like the ending? Well, I am very easy to please. Even though I know that the final arc had some glaring issues, I still think that it was a natural conclusion to the story. The manga didn’t pull off some random twist like Oshi no Ko, it followed the story’s natural progression and the ending was quite fitting. All the Negators are freed from their curses, the Union is disbanded, the planet is a better place to live in and the final chapter has a wedding ceremony for Andy and Fuuko.

Pretty much everything I could ask for from an ending. It felt natural, it was heartwarming and it made sense. Do I think it was perfect? No. But reading chapter 239 still put a smile on my face and made me think of all the awesome moments Undead Unluck has given us over the years. Sometimes, that’s all you need, really. Especially considering that I was balling up my fists in frustration the last few times I read a manga ending. CURSE YOU AKASAKA.

That is all for now

So yeah, let me know what you guys think in the comments. I liked the Undead Unluck ending even though it wasn’t perfect. But yeah, let me know what you guys think in the comments. I will take my leave here. See ya!
