Vinland Saga Season 2 Confirmed!

We have had so many rumors and whatnot about Vinland Saga Season for the past year or so… There were so so many rumors regarding this anime. Much more than I have heard for any other anime so far. But, here we are finally after so much speculation and cope, this much-awaited sequel is finally confirmed now.

There are a few expected (or unexpected) changes in the series of course… And I have to say, one of the rumors was pretty spot on. They almost even got the official announcement date right. Well, all that comes later though. First, let me tell you all the updates we have regarding Vinland Saga Season 2.

What do we know about Vinland Saga Season 2?

There was a Vinland Saga special live stream this Wednesday (8th June) that revealed a lot of details regarding the upcoming anime. First and foremost, just as the rumors suggested this season will be made by Mappa rather than WIT Studio. I doubt much will change though since most of the important staff members are retaining their positions. There are a few new staff/cast members too; most importantly, Mayu Takehana is stepping in as the new CG director. Nothing out of the ordinary aside from that.

Vinland Saga Season 2 is set to premiere in January 2023. This is very close to Chainsaw Man. another huge Mappa anime so I have my concerns about Mappa… we know they have been in quite a few work-related controversies… well, we’ll see. Expectations

Do I really need to spell it out? We all know Mappa will do a fantastic job on this. Mappa never misses. I know Vinland Saga Season 2 will be a great anime, I am just a bit concerned about the people who will be working on it. Aside from that, I have no doubt this will be an awesome anime. Just take it easy Mappa, I want to believe in you.

I am a little concerned about how people will take this part of the story though. The upcoming arc of Vinland Saga is basically a farming simulator. It won’t be back to the usual fast pace for a while. This arc focuses on Thorfinn’s changing perspective. So I dont know how that will sit with the mainstream audience.

Those are my only 2 concerns. Aside from that, you better be prepared for a banger of a season.

Well, that will be all for now. I am very excited about Vinland Saga season 3 and I look forward to it. I happen to actually really like this arc so I want to see it in animations soon.
