What Happened in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 4?

Normally, I don’t do episode reviews or episode-explained type of articles but this time it is different. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 4 has recently been released, and it has caused quite a stir within the community. I don’t think anyone predicted that the Hidden Inventory arc would take this turn.
I think some people are confused as to what happened in the episode as well. Don’t worry, we will be talking about that too. Cause what happened in this episode is pretty interesting.
So welcome back to my first episode review/episode explained article. Today we are, of course, talking about Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 4. So let’s get into it. Warning: spoilers ahead. Avoid reading if you haven’t watched the episode or don’t mind being spoiled.
About Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 4…
The Fight
The episode picks up immediately after episode 3, Fushiguro shot Amanai dead right in front of Suguru. This, of course, prompts a fight between Suguru and Touji. Touji just beat Gojo real hard and probably killed him so Suguru stands no chance. He is defeated pretty quickly, We get a nice explanation of how Touji managed to defeat Gojo and how he can keep up with sorcerers despite being a normal human.
After the fight, Touji retrieves Amanai’s corpse and takes it to the person who hired him. Even gets a bonus for all his efforts. After Touji leaves with his paycheck, guess who he runs into? That’s right, Gojo is back from the dead. Earlier in this season, we saw Gojo struggling with using Reverse Cursed Techniques but the recent near-death experience allowed him to master those in a short while to heal himself.
All this new power, the near-death experience, and the frustration and anger of losing to Touji and letting Amanai die have forced him into this trance-like HIgh state, almost like he is drunk. Touji is no match for a Gojo who has mastered both types of Cursed Techniques. We also get to see Gojo use his signature, Cursed Technique: Purple for the first time in this episode. Made by the combination of the positive, Reversed Curse Technique: Red, and the negative, Cursed Technique: Blue.
Aside fromΒ TheΒ Fight
The episode was mostly centered around Touji and Gojo’s rematch but we got some nice character moments just from dialogs alone. Gojo has gotten into this cold, heartless state of mind. To the point where he even considers killing civilians in the post-credits scene. And he probably would have done so if Suguru wasn’t there to stop him. We get to know why Touji hates sorcerers and the Noble Clans. He even leaves Megumi in Gojo’s hands before dying.
Conclusion
It was an amazing, amazing episode. The fights, animations, soundtrack, and character moments in this episode were all exceptional. That is why, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 4, Hidden Inventory 4 gets an easy 10/10 from me. Let me know what you think in the comments below. I will take my leave here. See ya!
