What The Hell is Going on With Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Ending???

Okay, this is the last article I will write on the ending of Jujutsu Kaisen Manga. I have already yapped about it enough. The signs have always been there, but we didn’t notice. NO, we absolutely did notice, how could we not when the only thing good about post-Shibuya JJK are the fights? And that, too, for the last 50 chapters or so, we all knew Sukuna was winning using some crazy hacks or binding vows. I swear, binding vows have just turned into a plot contrivance at this point.
Obviously, spoilers ahead. If you haven’t been spoiled by the internet yet, somehow, that is. But yeah, we are going to talk about the Jujutsu Kaisen manga ending. Again, this is my final article on it. I think I’ve done like two of these already. So let’s get started.
What is even going on?
There are two or three more chapters till the end. We know the manga ends on September 30th, and today is the 7th. And tell you what? I can’t bring myself to care about the ending anymore. Because none of what’s going on even matters now. It will either end with everyone dead or Yuji being left alone, or some variation of that. Jujutsu Kaisen was never shy about killing off its characters, but towards the end, this became its weakness.
Nobara and Gojo had the most shocking deaths in the whole series. Guess what? They’re back. Completely cheapening the shock we all felt. The last 50-ish chapters devolved into “New guy is introduced->new guy is hyped up->new guy fights Sukuna->new guy dies”. This pattern did no favors to the manga; if anything, it highlighted just how strong of plot armor was. Shounens have always kind of been bad at hiding plot armor. But come on, man, don’t make it this obvious. Everyone else dying only makes it stand out more.
We end the series with the unceremonious death of Sukuna. No backstory for him, we didn’t even get to see his “peak” form from the Heian era. We all knew Yuuji would defeat him, and that’s exactly what happened. I genuinely can’t bring myself to care about the remaining two or three chapters now. There are too many loose ends to resolve in that low of a chapter count. You wanna kill off Yuuji? Do it, I don’t care now. The least I can hope for is a better ending than MHA, but that’s it.
