Why is Chained Soldier Getting a Season 2??

Article at a glance:

  • Yes, I’m whining, but it’s educated whining. I’ve seen peak fiction get ghosted while mid-tier fanservice factories get sequels like they’re on subscription.
  • No, I don’t hate fun, I hate wasted potential. Studios could be blessing us with brilliance, but instead we’re out here renewing the anime equivalent of instant noodles without seasoning.
  • This is not just a rant. It’s a cry for justice, a manifesto of salt, and a love letter to the forgotten masterpieces buried under mediocrity’s second seasons.

Yes, this is going to be another rant. I am not even going to pretend to hide it; I am probably going to sound like a whiny teen, but I have to do this. I am SO sick and tired of useless drivel like Chained Soldier getting a Season 2 while more deserving series get stuck in a limbo. Don’t even give me that “oh, because it makes money” argument. Plenty of good shows that were successful didn’t get a 2nd season either. No, I am NOT going to use the most obvious example. I’ll use Ouran Host Club and Baccano as examples.

I am going to whine a lot, and you are going to read it, or I’ll replace all your notification sounds with my sighs. Yes, I can do that. How? I have no idea, but I WILL find a way. Yeah, so please prepare for my rant about Chained Soldier, and let’s just get right into it.

I Am Once Again Asking for Taste to Exist

Look, I don’t care if you enjoy Chained Soldier or Rent a Girlfriend; more power to you. But I DO care when absolute dumpster fires like these can take away opportunities from something better. You see, it takes money to make anime. And all that money used in making FIVE SEASONS of Rent a Girlfriend could’ve been used for something better, you know?

Also, can we stop pretending that Chained Soldier is actually good?? Just admit that you’re into it for the fan service and fights, that’s it. You can’t be eating feces pretending it’s chocolate, bro. This is not even about me being against fan service. Trust me, I’m REALLY DOWN BAD. But come on, man, you can’t call a poorly written show that exists just an excuse to provide fan service objectively good. Like name ONE THING that Chained Soldier does better than another anime, I’ll wait. Heck, I’ve seen shows with BETTER fan service too, bro.

So once again, I ask: WHY is THIS getting a Season 2 over something more deserving? This isn’t even about sequels anymore, we probably could’ve gotten a brand new anime that COULD have been good over CHAINED SOLDIER SEASON 2. Call it jealousy, call it whining, call it justified, I don’t care, I just want some shows I appreciate like Darwin’s Game to get a Season 2, bro. Am I just venting my frustrations here? Yes, absolutely.

That is all for now

Calm down, Okami. It’s not that deep; the article is over. No, you know what? IT IS THAT DEEP. Because somewhere out there, another mediocre anime just got greenlit for a sequel while Baccano still gathers digital dust. And I’m supposed to be okay with that? No. I’m feral. I’m unwell. I’m emotionally invested in justice for fictional shows from 2007. Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED Talk of rage. I’ll be in the corner, sipping instant ramen broth and manifesting Ouran Season 2 through sheer spite.

I… I am off to play DOOM Eternal. See ya.
