Why is Rent a Girlfriend Getting Another Season?!

Full disclosure, I may end up cursing in this article somewhere because of how mad I am right now. You see, my day was going so well. Eminem dropped an amazing album, Genshin Impact dropped an awesome trailer for Natlan, and I watched some awesome anime episodes. And then I do my usual research before starting to write my weekly articles and see Rent a Girlfriend is getting another season. You cannot imagine how fast I went from all happy and giddy to angry as hell.

I wouldn’t have made this article normally but screw that. I need to rant and you WILL read it. Otherwise, I will dox you. This is no news article. This will be a full-on rant about Rent a Girlfriend. So you know what? Let’s just get started. Chef Okami is cooking today and he is about to burn the whole kitchen to the ground.

Rent a Girlfriend is a burning pile of trash

You know, the acronym for is very fitting! “RAG”. Cause you will need a rag to wipe the tears of blood coming out of your eyes after watching season 4 of this filth. You will probably know this if you’ve been around the anime community for a while. Season 4 will adapt a particularly infamous scene from the manga. For those uninitiated, let me tell you about it. Spoilers? Who cares?

So in the upcoming arc, there is a scene of Kazuya fantasizing about Chizuru doing things with another dude and getting a rise out of it while crying in a swimming pool. Public swimming pool, might I add. Now you tell me if that isn’t the vilest thing you’ve heard in the entire day. He looks like a clown during that scene, and he is crying like a baby, face contorted and all. I don’t know how they will handle that scene in the anime because it was a very explicit scene in the manga.

*This*, this is what your continued viewership has spawned. Think long and hard about what you are doing with your life.

Don’t worry! Nothing will happen or come out of that scene! Except maybe Kazuya. Absolutely nothing will happen in the story. If you’ve watched Season 1, you can skip Seasons 2 and 3 and jump straight into Season 4 and things will still be the same! Character development? Pssh what is this, Sound Euphonium? We don’t do that here. Plot? What’s that? Never heard of it. My day was going so damn well and then I stumbled on this announcement for RAG Season 4. End me now, I have lost my faith in humanity.

Before I leave, I have something to say to you. If you think that this anime is unironically good, please fix your taste, go to therapy, and try to be happy. If you watch it in a “so bad it’s good” kind of way, there are better shows for that. It is because of you that we are getting Rent a Girlfriend Season 4. If the anime flopped, it wouldn’t get sequels. Let the weight of that responsibility sink in, ponder on it, and do something about it. That’s all, see ya.
