And that was another awesome week for us anime lovers. The movies this year may have been most trash other than a few exceptions, all anime seasons for this year have been amazing and the best one is yet to come lol. But if you watched Wistoria Episode 5, you know why I put that on the title. As I wrote in the title, this episode was hype and a lot of fun to watch, But, of course, I will speak on that more later on.

There were a few episode delays this week because of the Olympics but we got most shows on time. Oshi no Ko Season 2 treated us with some surprise character development. Shikanoko and Vtuber Legend Episode 6 were some of the most unhinged episodes those shows have put out so far. Alya Episode 6 offered a lot of plot-relevant information and Tower of God Season 2 Episode 6 was quite something as well.

So yeah, welcome back to another edition of our Best Episodes of the Week series! This is the 6th week of the Summer 2024 season, exactly halfway through. So let’s talk about everything from Shikanoko Episode 6 to Wistoria Episode 5!

Tower of God Season 2 Episode 6

Ok, so there were quite a few interesting revelations in this episode. The episode just dropped so I won’t spoil anything but we finally know why Bam/Viole joined FUG and became a Slayer candidate. Of course, he is someone very fitting to be a Slayer candidate because he is an irregular. These terms, by the way, “Regular”, “Irregular” and “Ranker” will only become more common so if you don’t understand them, please, I urge you to rewatch Season 1,

You will only understand the gravity of the ending to this episode if you know what killing Rankers means, Also, we got Slim Shady is TOG now, do with that what you will. Other than that, we got to learn what the other people in FUG are like. And for the love of God, Bam, please stop defending Rachel. She betrayed you.

Alya Episode 6

I went over this episode in detail in a separate article so I will keep this one short. But this episode had a lot of major plot developments. We got a whole bunch of info that will be important to the plot moving forward. And yeah, despite being a mostly character-driven rom-com, Alya Sometimes Hides her Feelings in Russian has a surprisingly good plot.

Aside from all the plot development, Yuki said some crazy stuff in front of Alya. And she probably meant all that too, just not in the context Alya thought lol. But Yuki’s comments made Alya act up for the rest of the episode and it was quite funny. But yeah, enjoyable as always, It will be fun to see how the new member of the Student Council that Yuki brought in affects the story and stuff.

Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 6

Man, I went into this episode expecting Aqua to just own the stage but nope, instead we got some surprising character development for Melt of all people. But the character development was good, so I am not complaining at all. I am tired of saying this at this point but man, Taiki Himekawa is something else. I don’t know what is it that Doga Kobo is doing but whenever he is on screen, the screen is his. Unless Aqua does something crazy in one of the upcoming episodes, he isn’t matching Taiki’s aura.

But this episode wasn’t about him, of course. The character development for Melt was really well done. He was once an arrogant prick but the anime managed to make even someone like him a bit relatable. He tried his best to improve after Sweet Today and I can respect that.

Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan Episode 6

As I said, probably the most unhinged episode this show has put out so far. I talked about this too in a separate article so I will keep this short. But this episode has multiple hilarious 4th wall breaks and references. Everything from the Narrator acknowledging that the manga didn’t have a summer season for years to the damn Bambi reference complete with the Disney castle logo, this episode was hilarious.

It made no sense and I enjoyed every single minute of this episode. Shikanoko sheds her fur like a deer and for some reason, her shedded fur has her clothes as well…I wish I was joking, but no, that actually happens in this episode and it is exactly as crazy as you’re thinking.

Vtuber Legend Episode 6

This anime too is going crazier and crazier every week. It started out relatively “normal” but it has been going crazy for the past few episodes and this episode was no different. Last week we had Alice going crazy and this week it was Shion. I think we all took Shion to be a relatively normal person but apparently, no one in this anime is normal and in keeping with that, Shion has also gone off the rails.

Like we all thought what could be worse than drunk Awayuki but naaah, this anime just threw us for a loop. This episode once again was full of so many references from the explicit mention of BanG Dream to that one subtle Honkai Impact 3rd reference lol. And of course, all the degen stuff as well. Awayuki and Shion fighting over Hikari was wild and funny, Unhinged episode, unhinged anime, and loads of fun.

Wistoria Episode 5

And the mage tournament finally starts and it is literally like the Tri-Wizard Tournament from Harry Potter lmao. But the first game they chose, Crown Game is pretty interesting and something new. All participants are split into 3-person teams and the first team to reach the stadium through all the obstacles wins. That’s a very simplified version of the rules but ho boy, does Will show off this episode. And my man deserves it. He participated in the game despite not being able to use magic.

While yes, Collete was helping him, his show of strength really shook the whole academy. It was a lot of fun to watch because of how good the art and animations for this anime are. And not satisfied with having all that hype action, Wistoria Episode 5 also leaves us with a crazy plot twist. I have no what will happen in next week’s episode and I look forward to it. Also, Collete is really growing on me, she was great in this episode, she understood exactly what she needed to do to help Will and kept up with him.
