2026 is an INSANE Year for Anime

2026 is historic. For the first time ever, Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece are all active in the same calendar year, something anime fans have never witnessed before.
Every single season is stacked beyond reason. from Frieren S2, Mushoku Tensei S3, Re:Zero S4, and Slime S4 to Black Clover’s return and Bleach’s Finale, there is literally no downtime.
This feels like a once-in-a-lifetime anime era, finales, long-awaited sequels, surprise remakes, and sleeper hits all colliding at once, making 2026 look like it might never be topped.

For the first time in the entire history of Shounen, we will have Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach AND One Piece airing in the same damn calendar year. And if stars align even further, maybe we could get a few weeks of overlap between all of these, which would just be insane. But that is unlikely to happen, given that none of these shows have a confirmed release date yet. But still, the big three + Dragon Ball being active in the SAME YEAR is insane enough to make 2026 a historic year for anime.

And of course, that is not all. We have Frieren Season 2, Hell’s Paradise Season 2, and Fate/Strange Fake running in this season alone. I say this without any exaggeration, 2026 really is a “once in a lifetime” year for us anime fans. And we are just getting started. Let’s talk about it in a bit more detail.

Just how stacked is 2026 in terms of anime?

Well, as I said, we already have some insane stuff like Frieren Season 2, Sentenced to be a Hero, Fate/Strange Fake, Hell’s Paradise Season 2, and SO MUCH more running RIGHT NOW, in THIS SEASON ALONE. And then we have Dragon Ball Super: Battle of the Gods getting a 6-episode remake this year, which looks INSANE. Black Clover Season 2 is coming this year. One Piece Elbaf Arc anime is coming this year. Naruto 20th Anniversary specials will be airing this year. And of course, the long-awaited Bleach TYBW Part 4 ALSO starts in Summer 2026.

This right here is a weeb’s dream. Oh, don’t you worry, we haven’t even gotten started. Re:Zero and Slime Season 4 start airing next season. Dr. Stone Science Future Part 3 is also in the next season. Once again, that’s not all LMAO. Wistoria Season 2 and The Angel Next Door Spoils me Rotten Season 2 are also airing in Spring 2026. OH YEAH, Mushoku Tensei Season 3 is coming in the Summer 2026 season. I can end the article right here, but 2026 JUST DOES NOT STOP.

Yojo Senki Seaosn 2, Roshidere Season 2, Blue Box Season 2, The World of Otome Games in Unfit for Mobs Season 2, AND The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 are all STILL scheduled for this year. All these names are just off the top of my head, too; I didn’t pull up a list for ANY of these. So I am DAMN sure there are STILL things that I missed here. What are we doing lol? I thought 2024 was a good year; 2026 is just washing 2024 away in every single season. What the hell are we even doing, LMAO? I wholeheartedly welcome it, though.

Sorry if the article seemed a bit all over the place. I am just so damn excited for it all. I swear to god, 2026 is gonna feel the next 5 years or so dry in comparison. I don’t know why so many major releases/finales are in 2026, but holy hell is it a good year to be an anime fan. And all this is without even mentioning the random seasonal anime I end up liking, like Sentenced to be a Hero or You and I are Polar Opposites in this season.
